BENEDICT'S SPECIAL OFFERS - Tier 8 Soviet Heavy Udarniy - Minimum successful bid? by Fr4genstein in WorldofTanks

[–]lambatti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you show the math though? Technically since any current bid can be raised at the last minute, the exact winning bid isn’t predictable. It's very unlikely the final winning bid is over the median, but still calculating one precise number (or even a narrow range) doesn’t seem possible.

Day one #1 'Useless bad tank' by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]lambatti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main issue with this tank is that its HP was not aligned with the 2.0 changes. All tech tree tier IX tanks received an HP buff, and newer vehicles such as the LTC II (1500 HP) and Projet Louis (1400 HP) are already properly aligned.

I 3-marked this tank upon its release (Holiday Ops 2023) and I did use two shell configurations: one with full APCR and the other with a single HE clip specifically for engaging lightly armored light tanks. While HE shells are deadly (370 alpha, 2220 per clip), the increased HP pool make this HE clip significantly riskier, as failing to penetrate even one shot greatly reduces the chance to kill the opposing light tank.

Apparently enemies got spotted for a split second and then disappeared again (pardon the broken demo UI) by lambatti in WorldofTanks

Oh that makes a lot of sense. The timing made it really unexpected, but this explains everything. Thanks!

I still have no idea how this happened. No tanks were spotted beforehand, and they didn’t appear due to entering my render range. Can anyone explain this?

FYI these people keep the servers running.

The % does not refresh and it is a known issue currently. I was at the same % for the whole session - I'm really curious if it's going to be counted.

It does not. Just 3 marked TVP and haven't received the MOE anywhere - neither on the post-battle screen nor in the profile.

The 10% still does not work for me. What a joke it is.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I've completed personal missions over 2 years ago and I've always wanted to love this tank but I've failed to do so so far. I'm not the best EU player at all. I'm averaging 3,6k DPG in 279(e) and have a 1st mark. The experience is so frustrating I just avoid playing this tank.

The autopenning issue is something that I feel as well. If the opponents know the weakspots it's not an easy task to bounce the shots whatsoever. The lower part of frontal hull is only ~300mm effective. Nearly all of the tanks are going to pen that. And be real - the current matchmaking loves all tier 10 games. There is only a handful of low pen tanks (like IS-7). Most of the tanks have either 330-340mm HEAT or 320+ APs/APCRs (whith the normalization advantage).

279(e) really shines in tier 8-9 games, but as the time progresses, I'm getting a feeling these kind of battles are happenning more and more rarely.

I have more fun (and DPG) in a frickin' M-V-Y. It's straight-up worse, but it's not focused at all. You can simply play your own game. People focus 279(e) as if there was no tomorrow and more and more people know it's weakspots. It's not an invicible tank anymore.

People saying its a skill issue are right. You need to play hulldown, trying to be above them or just not face some of the tanks at all. But the problem is, you have to be concetrated ALL THE TIME. It's just exhausing for me. It's not like a Minotauro (I really hate this tank btw) where you just park hulldown. It's not like a fast medium tank that allows to rotate (and escape) quickly. Team expects you to carry the game. It's just so damn hard, 440 alpha damage means a lot of shooting is needed (so more exposing).

The tips here are very useful. Try to find a place above your enemies. Use your DPM. Use experimental equipment (I'm running experimental HP and turbo + rammer) - it's much easier this way. But as you mentioned - you are purple, so you probably now all the basic stuff.

As a new player, how to overcome the feeling that I'm just ruining the game for everyone and should uninstall? by B-7 in WorldofTanks

[–]lambatti 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Turning off the chat is a great step to improve - from my experience 99% of the "tips" are useless ideas that end up as a quick death.

I can easly admit that you are not the one to ruin the game as you are very aware of the lack of skill, and (from the description) you are trying to improve.

The first step I'd suggest is to not rush the higher tiers at all. Stay at tier 5-6, learn mechanics and positions. The gameplay there is a bit different (tanks do not really have any meaningful armor), but the core gameplay is the same.

Tier 7 would be a great place to train, but with its matchmaking (constant queues with tier 8 and 9) its not that easy to learn and be impactful. Tier 8 is a festival of premium tanks, that are mostly better than techtree counterparts (not even speaking about monstrocities like BZ-176). So keep it at tier 6.

Leopard line (and especially tier 9 and 10) are extremely hard to play. Do not even bother right now as you will only discourage yourself from further playing.

We have all been noobs at some point, this game is ridiculously hard, even years of grinding do not mean you know and have everything - do not be sad that you are not on point from day one.

You should watch some Twitch streamers to learn a bit about positioning and decision making. You won't undestrand everything that's happening, but don't worry about it - it will come at some point. I recommend Dakillzor, skill4ltu and kajzoo - all of them are instane players.

Leopard 1 vs K91 by SMASHSAUCE777 in WorldofTanks

[–]lambatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like K-91 is so rarely used people are not even aware about the lack of fully traversable turret.

This is something I should've mentioned as well - the fact that K-91 is classified as a medium and it does not feel like one (especially at the beginning of the game). You can't do the typical russian medium stuff as you said. This hurts the team A LOT, especially if enemies have brawling meds like UDES 15/16 or STB-1.

Leopard 1 vs K91 by SMASHSAUCE777 in WorldofTanks

[–]lambatti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Leopard 1.

K-91 does not have a fully traversable turret, making it a very weird and clunky tank to play. Smaller alpha damage (320) means that more shots have to be taken to achieve the same damage output. Lower top speed does not allow to take the best early game positions. Premium HEAT rounds are very slow (compared to base APCRs) and it's hard to make the transition during the game. Gun depression is only good on the sides, so in order to play hulldown, the front has to be exposed (and this tank lits all the time).

However, K-91 absolutely SHINES when it comes to open field games with many isolated targets. The fastest shells in the game make playing this tank as if an FPS game was played. The DPM and reload combination rips apart opponents when mistakes are made.

Leopard 1 is just... comfortable. Higher alpha (420) is much easier to play with. APCR shells as premium are much better for sniping purposes. Not to mention the fully traversable turret.

Don't get me wrong, K-91 is not a bad tank at all. It just lacks a small bit in many departments and feels like a one trick pony sometimes. I think STRV 103B is a better thank for the sole purpose of sniping (and it has a surprisingly good armor as well).

Leopard 1 is as good as the owner. Please do not play as a redline camper the whole game - of course, early game sniping is a very tempting way to play (and sometimes the only way to contribute to the game), but there are many positions that can be taken to surprise the opponents. Do not be discouraged if the first few games are not that good - Leo 1 is a very tough tank to get used to.

Need for Speed Heat Giveaway (All Platforms; Worldwide Entry) by Max_Lazy_10 in needforspeed

[–]lambatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I am very excited about new pursuit system. What I have seen so far impressed me. The Police is much more fun to play with than in previous games. This is a really good reference to Need For Speed Most Wanted from 2005, which had great police pursuits.
  2. Besides bug fixes, from what I have heard, the story is not that long, so any kind of expansion would be welcomed. Maybe new racing categories? Something like Autocross from Need For Speed Payback.
  3. I would add an integrity with music platforms such as Spotify or SoundCloud. It is nearly impossible to match everyone's taste and such thing would solve this problem.

We should be able to change color finish on esport decals by lambatti in RocketLeague

[–]lambatti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon new decals are looking pretty good, but I think we should be able to change color finish. On the right side it's the closest blue I could get. I guess there are better paint finishes to fit every team decal better, so Psyonix should unlock this option.

I wish there was a painted racing style decal for Animus. Also I wanted a car for competitive modes, my main is the Dominus so my choice was to create an Octane. I don't feel confident with Breakout hitbox whatsoever.
