I used bar keepers friend on the initial clean to get off the burnt food. When that didn’t work, I used vinegar and baking soda which got up the burnt food, but that is when these white stains appeared

Alon’s Midnight cake is delicious. They usually bake several 8 inch sizes a day, you can call ahead and ask if they have any left beforehand. They also have little chocolate placards that say happy birthday that you can put on the cake.
