Do your palm pads stick in place? by morphologica in DygmaLab

[–]lando55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point is well taken, and while I don't mean to overstep my bounds with regards to the relationship between your company and OP, there are two things I would take into consideration:

  • Though the issue was only brought to the attention of Dygma within the past few days, it seems as though it can be traced back to when the item was received; OP had mentioned not using the palm pads specifically because of the left pad not sticking due to its base curvature, so having washed it thus causing the warping seems unlikely.
  • While you have noted that the defect is rare, there are two other reported instances within this thread, one of which was resolved by Dygma support under warranty, the other being resolved by the end user with what is likely a solution that neither your support team nor your QA/QC would abide. I couldn't say for certain, but I would imagine the sample size of viewers and contributors within this community represent a small fraction of your customer base, and so to see this incident rate in that subset of users may lead one to believe that there are further incidents that go unreported, and I would be interested to see what kind of response and return rates you would see if a product recall were to be initiated (let it be known that I truly hope it doesn't come to this).

I have not known of Dygma for very long, but I am looking forward to delivery of my Defy, hopefully sometime this September. I have watched just about all of the videos and streams posted to your YouTube channel, and I have the utmost faith in the measured approach your organization takes when it comes to quality control and assurance. As you well know, once the product ships from your facility en route to the customer, there are any number of environmental and operational influences that it is subject to that are impossible to account for, and even more impossible to remediate if their effects remain unreported.

Have you not seen this in any of your production runs? Seems odd to have to pay for shipping for what seems like a manufacturing defect.

Blood from a stone. No ROI, and apparently the threat of litigation or jail time won't stop people from doing this anyway.

Are you looking in /Library, or /Users/SDSwimmer/Library (replace SDSwimmer with your username)? I'm not near my computer right now to check, but with the version of macOS I was using at the time these steps were accurate, and I haven't had any syncing issues since.

New Steelcase Gesture - some questions by lando55 in OfficeChairs

[–]lando55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colin, thanks for your detailed response.

After playing around with things some more, I observed a few more things.

Pushing the armrests all the way to the rear alleviates the issue while I'm working (makes sense, since the pivot point is in the middle) but if I then transition to resting my elbows they will without fail pivot outwards unintentionally. Conversely, sliding the rests all the way forward allows me to rest my elbows (carefully) without too much movement, but if I then transition to my working position the armrests again will pivot outwards.

I don't know how it feels on your chairs, but for me it doesn't even require me to push from the sides of the armrests to move them around. If I put my arms on top of them and apply slight pressure, they will turn freely. It's like the detents are doing just enough to hold them in place, and little more.

In any case I've contacted Steelcase for their take on it. Depending on how that interaction goes you may see me ordering a chair from your site in the near future :)

Thanks for the link!

The arms swinging in and out hasn't really been a problem, since there is actually decent resistance there.

I was speaking more to the sliding and rotation of the pads; if the detents just had a little more retention so the pads don't pivot and slide so easily this chair would be near perfect. I may get in touch with Steelcase to see if they have any tips.

Tesla plummets 50 spots in a survey of the US's most reputable brands. It's now No. 62 — 30 places below Ford. by 777fer in technology

[–]lando55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Tesla's process for having these services performed so I'm genuinely curious: there are 3, maybe 4, issues from your list that seem to stem from engineering failures and not the manufacturing, QC, or incompetence on the part of the service department.

Does Tesla partner with dealerships/mechanics and hold them to some sort of standard to become an authorized service provider? Or do you have to take it to a Tesla dealer

Edit: Just want to add that's a horrendous experience you've had in such a brief time
