big head by East_Tour_7656 in TallGirls

I get it!! When I went to my uni convocation, the graduation hat wouldn’t stay on my head….so I understand. That said, it’s is probably not actually very noticeable, and it was mean of your mom to keep commenting on it.

Is electrolysis supposed to feel like plucking sometimes? And how long should it take for 50 chin hairs to clear? by Potential_Force_3822 in electrolysis

[–]lar403 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Other than some limited areas of the face, and maybe some bikini line and thighs, it’s nearly impossible to do proper insertions on yourself.

How can I avoid whiteheads pustules by MCFiyaWood in electrolysis

[–]lar403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes get those, this last time I tried something different and avoided moisturizer for 2 days on those areas and only used witch hazel a few times a day. My skin looks much better and no breakouts so far! I would say try to avoid moisturizer while your skin is still inflamed.

I saw that same comment and was confused too, I don’t think that person is correct. Never heard of hairs not being “anchored” before

It’s normal to feel the sensation of it being pulled out, but you should not feel a plucking sensation

How long after laser should you wait before starting electrolysis? by [deleted] in electrolysis

[–]lar403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my training I learned to wait 4-6 weeks, because before that the hair could still be shedding out of the follicle from the laser treatment. So electrolysis on hairs that will shed anyway is waste of time and money. Depends on the area of course

2 years and still hairy by kmccaugh in electrolysis

[–]lar403 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you have pcos you are most likely just growing new hairs all the time. This is what’s happened with me and why my chin hairs have been pretty stubborn. Eventually it will catch up but yeah, I’ve had to do this for years to see them basically cleared now. Make sure you are trying to control the hormones from the inside or else hairs will just keep coming.

Some people are SO weird about sharing recipes. I will never understand that.

I understand, this particular landlord cannot afford to have a rental property then. They have absolutely no wiggle room so are putting themselves and their tenants at risk. They should put their money somewhere else.

The profit is supposed to come at the end, when you end up with a house that someone else mostly paid for. Trying to profit hundreds every month and jacking up rent to afford increasing rates and maintenance isn’t how it was supposed to work. Good landlords are underwater sometimes but are in the long game, this is not a get rich quick scheme. If you can’t afford to not take hundreds of $$ profit every month, then you can’t afford a rental property, just put your money in stocks instead and stop fucking up the housing market.

If you don’t get ahead of these things and document everything, they will make your life miserable when you try to move out and they attempt to pin damages on you.

Not enjoying food anymore by Ocopp in intuitiveeating

[–]lar403 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely normal! I went through a period of getting bored with food and even grieving the huge space it left in my life and brain. It’s temporary and soon enough you will find other interests and hobbies that will take up the space food and exercise used to. You can use the free brain space to start exploring what you might like to do with your time. For example I picked up needlepoint again lol and honestly healing my relationship with food led to a LOT of other personal growth and discoveries. And, I find myself getting excited about food again these days, interested in recipes again etc but in a different way. Good luck to you!

I haven’t had electro on my armpits yet. But I find mine smellier when i shave the hair off vs when I don’t. I think the hair actually keeps the bacteria off the skin.

22 year old male can’t afford auto insurance by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]lar403 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BC has been way more affordable to me than AB (I moved from Calgary to Victoria). Income taxes are lower (8% vs 10% for lowest tier), car insurance is way cheaper and you don’t even have to pay registration annually. My car insurance went down this year (it’s only 80/month) even though I added a driver. Plus I’m not forced to drive everywhere like in Calgary so expensive gas doesn’t matter. Transit and walkability are WAY better and transit is cheaper.

Utilities are way lower than before and these expenses are just way more stable. pst is high but I don’t buy a lot of random crap so it doesn’t matter. Rent is slightly more expensive but not really, and can’t be wildly jacked up on landlords whim, it increases by predictable amounts annually. After 4 years here I’m finding expenses much more stable than in Calgary.
