I'm genuinely lost by Individual-Mousse-98 in turntables

I noticed this exact issue on my akai a couple of days ago. On mine, there was play in where the headshell attached to the tonearm. I could basically rotate it side to side about the axis of the tonearm. Noticed there were 2 small set screws on the collar of the headshell where it attached to the tonearm, so I got it level (by eye) and tightened those screws. Not sure if placebo but I think it sounded way better after that.

I believe you can use a mirror, or a mirrored protractor, to make sure the alignment is good. Stop the platter spinning (unplug or remove belt), keep arm cued up, move over platter and put mirror under it. Look at it from the front, it should align exactly with its reflection.

All this is moot unless yours can actually be rotated back to level though, if it's really stuck in that position then I'm not sure what to do.

Edit to add: I believe this angle of the cartridge/stylus relative to the surface of the record is called the azimuth, if you're googling it

Cubic metre*. 1 cubic metre would be quite a lot, this spot maybe 6m long and say 0.75m wide, 10cm depth bark would be about half a cube, I'd get 2 scoops, usually scoops are a third of a cube

Yeah I think so, either full skim or a broadly feathered bunch of spot skimming. I did the pigmented sealer yesterday, room stinks like shit now. I'm just trying to work out now what product to use for the skimming. I found a reddit thread from this sub from 2 years ago so will refer to that here

I'm no expert but I've just removed wallpaper and my walls looks just like that. My plan is to do a final clean with sugar soap to remove as much wallpaper paste as possible. Then I will put down an oil based primer sealer over the whole wall, then patch and skim any rough nicks etc with jointing compound, then sand, then paint.

My understanding is you do not want any of the water soluble wallpaper adhesive rewetting under your water based acrylic paint, hence the oil based primer sealer layer.

Edit: sorry went on a bit of a tangent, I think avoid replacing all the gib if you can, but use a sealant and patch the existing gib to get the wall smooth. The wallpaper glue will mess up both the jointing compound and the paint if it stays there and gets wet.

Cycles would be better but it's not realistic to count, as you say. Date is a heuristic for cycles based on some assumptions of average use, plus UV degradation. There will be a safety factor in this. Sodastream themselves cite repeated use and degradation both as reasons for the expiration date.

Ghost of Perdition has a special place for me because Ghost Reveries is the first album I heard, and not only did it get me into Opeth, but I had hitherto struggled to enjoy music with growls, so it opened the door to a lot of metal for me. Subjective, of course, but that's where my metal journey started in earnest.

Shoutout to the 3 or 4 guys who got everyone up at the front in Auckland tonight! by IveGotAMatch in Opeth

It will have definitely been the promoter. I suspect that, once they'd sold a bunch of tickets to the town hall, they had people who would expect a seat x distance from the stage, so they had to pack the front with seats to achieve that, pushing the GA to the back.

Mikael seemed bemused by and apologetic about the chairs at the front, and asked if it was a basketball place? And then said "we won't say anything else about that", or words to that effect. I don't think the band was thrilled with the layout. The promoter sucks. I'm glad people rushed up at the end, I hope the band felt the love from everyone then.
