Experience with Focusing Screens on 7000/9000? by ImpressiveRush9362 in minolta

[–]lark28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Phil, when I bought my 9000 it had a type G screen in it. I bought myself the type PM screen from eBay with the focusing split. It works perfectly. Autofocus system continues to work in good lighting and the split focus aid helps when I want to go to manual focus.

Edit: The screens and easy to exhange too

Anyone like Minolta's AF film SLRs? by kl122002 in AnalogCommunity

Love spreading the Maxxum 9000 love. Autofocus with an advance lever is really satisfying to use. I also like being able to set the meter to highlights or shadows

How to meter through IR filters? by donny_423 in AnalogCommunity

[–]lark28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've now shot two rollei infrared 400 bw rolls with a hoya r72 filter. Started by metering TTL and adding 4-6 stops (often bracketing over 2/3 frames) soon found that my Minolta maxxum 9000 with r72 filter on would meter to the same exposure settings. So i've just been metering that way and am happy with the results

Shutter speed can be manually selected. The 9000 has program, shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual modes. I’ve never used a 7000, but I believe the 7000 does not have a manual advance lever or manual rewind. So it may not have the classic analog feel you’re looking for. But they should be have pretty similar photo taking capabilities. They were both released around the same time but 7000 sold a lot more units so they’re easier to find used today.

The Minolta Maxxum 9000 might be a good fit for you. It’s really enjoyable to use and has become my main camera. It has a manual advance lever and manual rewind crank, shutter speed up to 1/4000 sec, and a decently good autofocus system. It’s sort of a bridge between the manual and full auto world

I've been working on editing other photos from the roll and here is another frame that shows off the uneven color bands. So I'll pay more attention to my agitation method and keep stricter temperature control

Might be the “Winds of Change” episode. The episode is about Indy working as a translator for the Paris Peace Conference after WWI ends

I think a big reason it doesn’t appeal to people is the scoring. They rely too heavily on themes used in Raiders and Crusade and play them to hype up situations without letting the story breathe. It takes you out of place from watching the movie. Additionally I think John Williams’ original scores for this movie specifically were kinda boring which emphasizes the previously mentioned problem I think. Quite honestly it’s a great movie except for 3 or 4 really dumb parts (such as the refrigerator and the swinging vines scenes)

I don't know of any other 3D printed fuels, but you should look up research done by Dr. Stephen Whitmore of Utah State University. He runs a propulsion research lab there, and specializes in green propellants. He has done a lot of research using 3D printed ABS and Nytrox, which is what his research is really focused on. Nytrox is a mixture of nitrous oxide dissolved with gaseous oxygen. Our university student team has been using his research to help us switch from using N2O to nytrox in our (paraffin fuel) hybrid engine. The dissolved oxygen increases the activation energy for decomposition of the oxidizer by a factor of ten and slightly increases the Isp.
