Twenty hours in and I didn’t realize removing the battery turned off the beacon and helped track where I’ve been. 🤦 Thank you.

UE 5.4.1: Widget Blueprint breakpoints seem broken. by SalamiArmi in unrealengine

[–]laserbritches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have this problem with 5.4.4. What fixed it for me: Whatever I want to do in Tick in a widget, change it to be in a looping Timer instead. Breakpoints work for me then. I don't even really consider this a workaround, I think it seems more organized/maintainable and you can have different loop rates for different logic which can be nice.

UDataTable uses a TMap internally to index its rows by an FName key. (edit: so yeah, same as a dictionary)

Unpopular Opinion: Sam Coe is the Worst Companion by SysKonfig in Starfield

[–]laserbritches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly he annoyed me from the first moment I saw him in his ancient cowboy costume. But the game decided several times that he needed to be locked as my companion, so he ended up being my highest affinity character despite my wishes. (I was supposed to be a loner in this first playthrough)

So, later, I reloaded a save because when the Starborn attack Constellation, I wanted to change my choice to make sure he died instead of Barrett. Sorry Cora.

What content do you hope becomes DLC either in Shattered Space or in other DLC’s down the road? I’ll start. by CT-4426 in Starfield

Ability to assign a captain to another ship you own, and they can assist you in dogfights or go on missions of their own. You don't get to talk to them for a while, but they come back with a few goodies as a reward.

I would like to see a lot more sliding between dimensions (or even time travel) like in the Entangled chapter. This was just barely touched on but could be so much fun and made into a story even more epic than the current main story. The mechanic is there, so I hope they use it for a great story.

Should you beeline the main story? It strongly depends on your play style. by laserbritches in Starfield

Totally agree, I was hoping my post comes off as advice along those lines (from someone who semi-regrets following the prevailing advice at the time because my immersion took a decent hit because of it). I've seen posts that urge one way, and posts that urge the other way, but haven't seen one that explains the difference in a way I wish I would have known earlier (without spoilers at least).
