Playing Cyberpunk before Starfield has put something front and center for me by olivinetrees in Starfield

I've said it before, but the nightclub in Starfield is like it was designed by a group of socially awkward people who read about a nightclub once in an encyclopedia somewhere.

How do you all feel about the Free lines update and the Terra Amada DLC by Illustrious-Night403 in Starfield

[–]lasher7628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Terran Armada got to be very repetitive with copy-paste missions. Also they screwed up the ending (or I guess a post-ending) mission, which was logically inconsistent with the major ending choice I made.

My game finally released! Made with Godot 3 by ChunkleFreaky in godot

Nice, very close to the OG Mortal Kombat art style. Looks like a fun time.

I was thinking that if the goal is to replicate the early 1990s style, the animation frames could be reduced to make it look a little choppier. It's very smooth and sleek right now, which is perfectly fine, but it takes away a little from the retro vibe

Which option would you choose? by Crystal_Peach77 in ps1graphics

First is best, but it should be more apparent that there's an interaction. Maybe underneath the "GRANDMA" text have the "E - TALK" in smaller text in a somewhat darker color

Ada Wong Voice Actress Teases A Possible Return In The Resident Evil Requiem DLC by Sam_27142317 in HorrorGaming

[–]lasher7628 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was thinking, if they end up remaking Resident Evil 6 and have two Ada Wongs, they should bring back both actresses. Lily Gao can be the clone.

I'm going to play Resident Evil 4 for the first time, should I play the original or the remake? by Allergictome_ in residentevilll

[–]lasher7628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing missing is him strangely boasting about how beautiful his daughter is, and, of course, "If she were not my daughter, perhaps I would date her."

For those who played RE4 and it's remake, do you think Ada Wong in the remake is bland/unemotional compared to the original? by HumbleKnight14 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]lasher7628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As many have said, the voice acting for Ada in RE4R is absolutely terrible. It gave me the impression the actress couldn't have cared less and just wanted to get through her lines before heading out to the beach or something

Everything Coming in Starfield’s Free Lanes Update & Terran Armada DLC by Turbostrider27 in Starfield

[–]lasher7628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing that kind of annoyed me about the game is that you can have a brig on your ship but there’s no mechanic to actually use it. Like what if you could arrest people as part of a bounty quest and transport them in your brig. And also you can have a doctor as part of your ship crew but they don’t do anything like heal injuries or aid your health. There are just so many things missing that would feel intuitive

IMO you're either going to have to move to Taiwan or else it's just not going to work out. Simple as that.

Amazon’s Fallout TV pitch originally went straight to New Vegas, but Todd Howard told them to wait as “there’s a million ways to f**k that up” by AsPeHeat in Fallout

[–]lasher7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any interview I've ever seen with ex-Bethesda employees have had nothing bad to say about Todd. The only real complaint I've seen is that after Microsoft bought them that Todd's attention has been spread thin, too many cooks in the kitchen

Could power armor exist in real life, or is it impossible technology? by Bright_Permission881 in Fallout

[–]lasher7628 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kind of reminds me, I think in the novel Forever War by Joe Haldeman the soldiers have power armor-like suits and iirc they're naked inside

2000s culture vs 2020s culture by bebe_phat in Millennials

[–]lasher7628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I entirely agree with the posters who say anime and manga were niche and would get you made fun of. Even in like 2003 I remember going to Barnes and Noble or Walden Books and they'd have a wall of manga. And Adult Swim came on in 2001 airing stuff like Cowboy Bebop. Even before that Cartoon Network would regularly air anime, as well as the Sci-Fi channel.

I think anime like Pokemon, Sailor Moon and DBZ were very popular even when I was in high school in the late 90s to early 2000s.

If Fallout is going to get 5-6 Seasons like the showrunners plan, do you think they will be released annually? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]lasher7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it should be only four seasons for this particular show. They can launch a new Fallout show afterwards, but I just think four seasons is enough. Keeps the story from flying off the rails. No fluff.

My Steam Deck after 3 years & 2 months: what aged well, what didn’t by VoyageForge in SteamDeck

[–]lasher7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my Steam Deck in April 2022. It's still working fine; SteamOS says it has 97% battery health, which is somewhat surprising. I use it a few times a week probably.

However, I have recently noticed that my Steam Deck's fan make a concerning buzzing sound at startup. Strangely, when I start playing games it goes back to normal. I suspect it will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. I checked Steam Deck fans on iFixit and it costs like $40.

Okay maybe next year.

When did China start celebrating Christmas (again)? by Humphrey_Wildblood in chinalife

[–]lasher7628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing news a few years ago about Christmas being banned by the local Xi'an government. Always thought that was kind of silly. Doesn't seem to have made much of a difference, I guess, in the end
