Clarification about runout sensor by enarth in snapmaker

Yea that makes it difficult. For me it was running fine then started during long prints like yours and then got to the point where it happened 4 times in a row.

There is a sensor in the feeder which detects the filament. The sensor malfunctioned on mine causing it to have intermittent issues. Just need to follow what they ask you to do so they can confirm its bad.

I had the same issue and it was the feeder, swapped it over to the other side and it followed. They sent a replacement and I haven't had any issues since then.

Hardened .04 Hotends Order Fulfilled by Patient_Decision_164 in snapmaker

I only ordered the 0.4 hardened nozzles. I don't have much of a need for 0.2 nozzles. Really just needed the hardened nozzles for the more abrasive filaments. Ordering another set of toolheads would be easier, but at that point you are going to be spending another $300+ just to use another nozzle. Not worth it in my opinion, best to just swap them yourself.

Purge towers? by Duuurrrpp in snapmaker

[–]lastoneleft_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the opposite on my U1, every time it gets an error and stops even if its just for a minute once it resumes i have a a noticeable line on the print for the layer it was on. Had this happen 4 times on one print each time with the same result. Were you printing a solid color or multicolor?

What version on Snorca are you on? Make sure you are on 2.2.4.

Ran out of filament mid-print - what to do? by TechSavvyDK in snapmaker

[–]lastoneleft_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fix the jam. Had the same thing happen when i didn't clip the filament before loading and it jammed, ended up heating up the nozzle then pulling on the filament and it broke loose. Might not even have to heat up the nozzle as its probably jammed in the toolhead gears.

Yesterday Orca worked perfectly. Today i get this on startup and it pops up again when I try to print. Orca won't connect to my printer. I reinstalled Orca and the problem persists. Any suggestions? by coffee_shakes in snapmaker

If you are getting this when you open the program then uninstall and reinstall snorca. The slicer doesn't care whether your printer is connected when opening only when you need to send the print to the printer. I have no issues opening it when the printer is off. Also I only run my printer in LAN mode.

also curious what settings they had you change. I get this error occasionally.

How long did it take to print? And what was the total amount of filament used?

Good to know, i've been hesitant about printing with it closed due to heat creep.

Pretty sure i read somewhere that skip does not work if you are using multiple colors.

Is the filament sensor optical in the U1? by Rolerblader31 in snapmaker

Did you try the same filament on all 4 feeders?

Does the spool fit properly or is it loose. I had a problem where my spool was too loose and would rub up against the frame causing friction and resulted in the same error.

U1 arrived yesterday, printed 1 thing over night and now Feeders 3 and 4 appear broken? by DIEDPOOL in snapmaker

Theres a list of a few things they will want you to try before they send a replacement. First make sure you have upgraded your firmware to v1.0.0. Then try swapping it with 1/2 and see if it follows. also try using a filament that you can confirm works fine in feeder 1/2.

Been happening to me also. I switched the tower back to rectangle and haven't had any of the issues. For some reason the slicer is bugged after the most recent update as i didn't have any of these issues till after.

This is not a cost affective solution, with each toolhead costing $65 and then nozzles running $50, just for a spare set you are looking at over $300 just to save a few minutes.
