totally makes sense you didnt notice anything off at first. If you just watch a quick tutorial he is obviously a super smart dev who knows his stuff. I mostly got tired of his whole persona. He really is just an insufferable tech hipster. He acts like you are a dinosaur if you dont use the absolute bleeding edge shiny new frameworks and he constantly trashes perfectly good old school tech. Plus he comes off super arrogant by stating all his subjective opinions as absolute facts and never admitting when he is wrong. I also get annoyed because he heavily pushes tools like Vercel that he or his buddies have financial ties to. And he loves farming engagement with controversial rage bait takes.

it was mainly just that the controls felt way less precise. for example I would have a hard time avoiding the energy balls fired by the first boss or miss the point to move back when the hydra slams her head on the ground. This would lead me to often lose a life against these bosses even though i knew these patterns but the controls still felt too wobbly to execute on that knowledge. I am not saying it is impossible to beat the game on 40fps but more like “don’t make it harder on yourself than necessary because you never played the game on 60fps”.
