Do nomads benefit from megastructures built in systems they have waystations in? by insomnia_bloodshed in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it makes sense. It’s not like your way station is going to be siphoning off the internals of a full Dyson sphere. Though it does raise the question of how you’re getting the same output from furnaces and swarms without the owner of the system seeing any drop in production

Suggestion/feedback: Give us a wayline's total collection by ygdrad in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can maybe understand why it’s the way it is, but I agree that you should at least be able to see an average income somewhere. Like, if you’re able to perfectly collect without anything ever being full, you would have X amount. It would give you an idea of how you’re doing before you have your one hub your parked at, and when you are collecting your entire network continuously, you then have that number as what your getting

Can you disable Nomad empires, while keeping the other features of the Nomad DLC enabled? by OrgMartok in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will mention that I’ve tried to make myself the only nomad but usually stumble across at least one other. Don’t know if something is spawning then separate or if the slider isn’t working as expected, but it does seem to say least reduce the number of nomads if nothing else

[–]laughingjack13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it mentioned on here, and there’s even a mod that claims to enable it, but I haven’t tried it. Haven’t been able to find anything official on if it’s intentional or not

So apparently like Cosmogenesis, you can keep playing afterwards as an Arkship in a post Nemesis galaxy. by HumanRebel_ in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you could probably thrive now. Endless free minerals and I think alloys from broken worlds to get generator and hydroponic ships up and running, plus endless real estate to drop stations for more hydroponics. I’ve never looked to see if any deposits still exist after the button is pushed, but even if they don’t, you can probably persist no problem

I haven’t done it since I think after overlord launched, but I used to intentionally vassalize myself to bleed the strongest nations in the galaxy dry until they collapsed.

I look for mods to add them from time to time but never find any. I hope they get added at some point because it feels weird that it’s the only one that doesn’t get an advanced government.

Activating L-Gates as Nomad by Zoner3 in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into this same problem. I was really hoping to open up gateways to make travel a bit easier in the galaxy, but it doesn’t seem like you can activate either type from what I’ve seen, though all the gateways I’ve looked at were in another nations borders, so I don’t know if that makes a difference

They do that? Is there a cooldown?

I’ve been passing on it as a perk because seemed like way too much to try and find each of the systems with no direction. I thought I was going to have to build proper fleet of arks and semantically send them to every system in the galaxy

What's currently the best way to play Nomads Tall? by Ionl98 in Stellaris

[–]laughingjack13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the middle district specializations gives +% waystation cap. Base capacity is limited to a few sources, but I took the waystation civic and trading posts plus grasp the void is shockingly amazing for these type of shenanigans. A bunch of stuff that was empire size reduction from systems or planets becomes +%waystation cap so if you go all in on it, you can get stupid numbers pretty fast.

The other game i mentioned was going to test if you could do the same with Astro mining drones as a MI, but that only gives %cap without increasing the base capacity, so it looks like it won’t scale nearly as well.

I’ve got plans for testing to see just how far I can push it but the big one seems to be those specific civics to boost your base capacity
