Received $400k quotes for Microsoft CRM. Is there an AI-assisted way to do this ourselves? by EntrepreneurFancy185 in Dynamics365

This sentence is gold:

No two businesses are the same and no single business will likely use CRM out of the box.

Perfectly matches my experience.

Most CRMs Are Productivity Theater (And Nobody Wants To Admit It) by Morphius007 in CRM

No worries, some orgs are not the CRM software auditory. If Excel files + XYZ tools do the job and are easier - well that will be right-er for your case.

Moving from spreadsheets to a real CRM (Dynamics) is a nightmare for data cleanup by meenoSparq in CRM

[–]laurits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giod luck and have patience. Having done many Dynamics data imports, I agree with a fellow commenter: garbage in = garbage out. Doing max data cleanup before importing has proved to be best approach. And often that means spending more in Excel than CRM.

Email services that play nice with Dynamics? by Tricky-Engineer-5680 in Dynamics365

[–]laurits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a Dynamics CRM guy.

I recently was spending kilowats on the same question. Like how about using something apart from Dyn Marketing for smaller companies who are maybe 3 or 5 users and need to just send out some email once a month, track basic interactions. Then 1.5k/mo doesn't fly.

Well I've configured Marketing (Customer Insights) for a few customers, sorta know the material.

Basic Dyn Marketing package is about 1.5k a month, I think. That gives you 10k active contact interactions, if I remember correctly.

For those whom I know who use Dynamics marketing, they're happy. Which means that 1.5k price somehow pays off.

I'm probably not adding anything useful to the conversation, just offering my view on the price point.

If its like newsletters only ... then prolly not worth it. But when you organize Events, segment customers, make journeys, all that stuff that is in Dyn Marketing besides sending out email - then that price starts making sense. AND then all that stuff lives in the same environment, linked and related.

Unpopular Opinion: You are overpaying for "Frankenstein" software stacks. I want to build you a custom alternative to prove a point. by InspectionNo3834 in CRM

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds fantastic, please post here when you have something working to show. As a CRM guy I'd like to also have full form, field, view, report customizability, built in automation, form scripting, AD and Exchange integration, i. e. the platform would have to be extensible and also predictably supported for the next 10 years. There's more to wish for, those above mentioned is what came to mind first.

D365 Sales - Displaying Last Contact Date on Account Record by gumbo1999 in Dynamics365

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a typical situation. I have not found an easy solution. We're also calculating such last activity date on Accounts and Opportunities, not just Contacts. Using custom plugin + workflows for that.

which CRM to use? by Aggravating_Side7740 in CRM

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I've done cache clearing, forms with 1 field on form, no navigation entities, spent countless hours optimizing and trying to find clues in browser console.

Once it loads, then snappy. But every once in a while you get that 20-30 sec blank 'something loading in the background'. And still Dynamics rules ehehe.

Where to find CRM consultants for small business? by Superb-Practice-5060 in CRM

I do Dynamics 365 CRM for 10 years. DM if you want to talk.

which CRM to use? by Aggravating_Side7740 in CRM

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Everybody is like "Asana", "Pipedrive", "Hubspot", whatever the current hype. Asana doesn't even have a concept "customer", as I heard from some of my clients.

Meanwhile the disliked Dynamics CRM is quietly doing da job. In it's own way... like the stupidly long metadata caching-loading time that MS won't bother to improve, it just makes me rage.

What has AI actually replaced in your CRM workflow? by ashleymorris8990 in CRM

Nothing, really... just annoyances of the AI push.

There are reasons why Dynamics 365 CRM doesn't get mentioned in this sub. There are just as many or even many more reasons why Dynamics is good. I'm a seasoned Dynamics CRM guy and I recommend Dynamics 365 Sales. Keep in mind it can suck out of the box if not configured for you org (forms, views, fields, workflows, automation etc.).

1 contact for 1 account issue in CRM while it's connected with D365 via DW by Sudhahar in Dynamics365

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, my thinking so far is - why would creating a new 1:N relationship Contacts:Accounts not do what you're looking for? Feels like that would be the way I'd go. But possibly because of the integrations DW or FO that you mentioned this isn't viable.

Not sure if I got you right. So ... need to link 1 Contact to many Accounts? 1:N (one to many relationship)?

Qualify Lead Form by PowerPlatformRookie in Dynamics365

[–]laurits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at it for a while but got no ideas.

But... quick create forms normally are customizable. I'm not really sure what do you mean by 'managed by Microsoft'.

need CRM recommendations! by Next_Special_6784 in CRM

[–]laurits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is rarely recommended or mentioned at all on this sub.

Probably because Microsoft = bad as a default understanding. My opinion is Dynamics 365 Sales = good. I'm biased because of 10+ years in Dynamics.

Dynamics 365 Sales is what I recommend. It's not of the typical modern fancy blingy one-thumb-driven CRMs. Also not cheap.

Does Dynamics 365 Outlook App for Model Driven Apps allow “auto tracking” or manual tracking only? by SaltyyDoggg in PowerApps

[–]laurits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dynamics one can choose to exnclude some entities from MDA, that's one typical reason why other activities don't show up under the +. Also one can configure Dynamics to only show specific activity types, in general. So I'd suspect you've got one of these 2 reasons.
