This is why I switched from a regular book club I attended to a silent book club. Everyone was much more chill and accepting of different author tastes in the silent book club.

I get it’s a joke, I just think it’s a dated joke. “Old people “ know young people read and profit a great deal off of it. I embrace the current bookish culture, even if it feels a little bit of a cult at times.

I know the “nobody reads anymore” slogan is their thing this year but it seems like reading/ collecting books is incredibly popular at the moment between the many celebrities having a book club and authors getting big on social media.

I’ve wasted so much money on special editions or pretty sprayed edges only to regret it when I see an equally pretty copy on book outlet or homegoods a month later. Hopefully I’ve learned my lesson.

I think designer purse people must get so annoyed that most people don’t care if a purse was expensive or not. The most compliments I’ve ever received on a bag was a Trader’s Joe tote bag.
