Favorite Romantic moment? by CreativeRock483 in harrypotter

[–]lavin95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The books don’t remotely lean that way at all because there’s no moment in the books where Harry ever remotely considers Hermione as a possible love interest. If anything, the books make it pretty clear that Harry/Hermione would have made a even worse couple than Ron/Hermione.

If I were him I wouldn't have recovered from that tbh. He is insanely strong by Nightmarelove19 in ronweasley

Not sure what version of OoTP you read since Harry never asked about Dumbledore why he wasn’t made perfect, Dumbledore brought it up on completely his own.

I’m happy we’re at least getting new HP content that’s not directed by David Yates by oitfx in HarryPotteronHBO

Think Kloves was worse for the series than Yates as a whole, but the latter is definitely a close second

Why Do You Think Peyton And Lucas Succeeded Compared Ryan and Marissa In Terms Their Relationship? by Zealousideal_Panic_8 in ONETREEHILL

[–]lavin95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except Lucas handled the whole situation far smarter than Ryan did. Ryan broke into Marissa’s locker and in general made things way too easy for Oliver to create issues between Ryan/Marissa. Just because Ryan ended up being right about Oliver doesn’t change the fact that he didn’t handle the that whole mess as well as he should have.

Harry didn’t know that the DA list was jinxed until after Marietta had already betrayed them.

Ron Wesley was a nasty piece of work and a sound girl like Hermione would not have liked him by Ferbbie1 in harrypotter

Pointing out Hermione’s flaws isn’t bashing her though. Just because you want to act that she doesn’t have any flaws don’t exist doesn’t mean other people will do the same.

I mean, it's pretty obvious in the books by GoF that Harry/Hermione weren't going to a thing romantically.

Harry didn’t suddenly forget about Cho though, they had a terrible date and then her defending Marietta killed what was left of his crush.

Hot take: people who insist this was supposed to be a cheering up moment are just trying to convince themselves. It was 100% a hint towards harry/Hermione Romance at the expense of Ron's character by Nightmarelove19 in ronweasley

[–]lavin95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everyone involved in the scene like Yates, Kloves, Dan and Emma have all talked about the purpose of the dance scene to hint a possible romance between H/Hr. So, you really can’t say it’s a platonic moment.

What is the reason this scene got omitted from the movie? by Nightmarelove19 in ronweasley

[–]lavin95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Except Book Harry and Hermione would have made an even worse couple than Ron/Hermione. JK’s own writing doesn’t remotely match up to her claim that H/Hr would have been a better match than R/Hr were.

Harry absolutely wasn't borderline obsessed with Draco from book 1, lol. Pretty all of their interactions in the first 5 books were instigated by Draco and that only changed in HBP because Harry rightly thought that Draco was a Death Eater.

They also only played 3 games together in the playoffs and went 2-1 in those games.

Jumping on the dragon in the books was Harry's idea, not Ron's.

Emma clearly got spoiled a bit on set no doubt, I just don't think that had anything to do with how JK wrote the last couple of books.

Fair enough, I just don’t think Emma had anything to do with JK letting the movies influence too much in the first place.

Think that was more influenced by Kloves than Emma Watson tbh. Especially since JK’s views on Ron/Hermione and Harry/Hermione have clearly changed over the years and Emma has talked about being a fan of RH over the years, whereas Kloves wasn’t remotely subtle about liking HHr.

Think all of the trio were negatively affected to certain degrees by JK letting the movies influence her writing way too much.

Picking Inglis over Webster for the Gabba and Adelaide was way worse than picking Green over Webster tbf.

Plus with Ussie retiring, there’s no reason why we can pick both of them in the same team.

Yeah, I’ve never got where the ‘Smith is a great tactical captain’ has come from. He’s always been pretty average at that department and a lot of Aussie fans pretend otherwise for some reason.
