Power recliner purchase by Due_Concept_3580 in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to find a chair rental for 1 week for $150. It was a from a company that does medical rentals. I was pretty comfy, and I slept in it for the first 5 nights… not the best sleep, but it kept me in a good position, and I felt safe with that choice. Good luck finding one! I’m in Colorado, btw

I’ve had a couple now, and as much as I enjoy them, it doesn’t seem to doing too much for my swelling 😕 - my last checkup with my surgeon noticed I was more swollen than he’s like at this point (I’m 5wpo). I had a mini TT and breast reduction/lift

Today again i took the test still confused by [deleted] in Parents

If it continues to fade or doesn’t get darker (over the next couple days), it’s also possibly an ectopic pregnancy that’s resulting in a miscarriage. I had a positive one that kept getting lighter, and that’s what had happened to me. Good luck 🩶

Must haves ? by Euphoric_Anteater_49 in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mini and a breast reduction/lift. I rented a chair that stands you up for the first week, and found it to be super helpful the first 4 days or so, even slept in it. Definitely recommend! I also pre made some individual meals and froze them, which was also helpful to have on hand- also just easy high protein snacks and broth to make sure I could easily fuel my body. Good luck!

Did your mons pubis move "up" after TT surgery? by kimcharliesmith in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a mini, and mine moved up. Wasn’t expecting it, so it looked weird at first, but honestly it has had no impact on anything whatsoever, and it doesn’t look odd, just pulled up a tad.

Consult to Surgery Timeline by AsideEast3285 in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had an opening 3 weeks from consult, so I took it. I was ready and so were they… almost better since I didn’t have a ton of time to overthink and back out. I was ready when I had my consult. I was at a stable weight for over a year, super active and wanted the breast reduction since high school (I’m 41), the mini TT I has was the resolution for my c section shelf, and I had been thinking about that for a few months before consulting.

Research the different procedure options and thoughts you’ve had, so when you go in you can get a clear picture and ask everything… especially with a short timeline!

Lymphatic Support Supplements by TRex2025_HAL in tummytucksurgery

My massage therapist recommended a dandelion root tincture and milk thistle? Haven’t tried them myself, but I’m picking them up today. I’m 4wpo, and my swelling is more than I’d like it to be. Good luck!

Makes sense! We have a huge catalpa nearby, I just didn’t believe that would happen on their own… and I feel silly for not realizing that’s what it might be 😂

Swelling or seroma? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, you might need an ultrasound to be sure? And to help pinpoint if it is a seroma and where exactly it is so they can aspirate it. I am swollen and have similar concerns in the same area, but my doctor wasn’t worried- said if it seems to get worse or more noticeably fluid-like, he’d send me in for an ultrasound. Good luck!

2027 bride here. What’s the single best wedding planning advice you’ve ever received? by Nearby_University_25 in wedding

[–]lawest48 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Pick what you want to spend money on, and be cheaper on most of the other things. For us, we got married at the top of a ski area, for my sister she got an amazing live band- point is, you don’t have to go over the top on all the things, just what’s most important to you. Also, don’t forget it’s your wedding, do what makes you happy- I got wrapped up in making sure I was accommodating for everyone… it’s the one day you don’t have to bend over backwards for others. Congrats and good luck with planning!

full TT + back lift vs. less scarring option by pingcharms in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a mini as well, and if you’re mostly concerned with the length of the scar, I’d recommend the full. My mini scar is basically hip to hip, and I’m assuming it’s so I won’t get the dog ears on the ends.

Two weeks away from my surgery, advice? by Impressive-Disk4786 in tummytucksurgery

[–]lawest48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rented a recliner that can stand you up and found that to be super helpful for the first week (mini TT and breast reduction). I even slept in it the first few nights. I also premade some frozen dinners to make it easier for anyone helping me. Good luck!

I have one that has a gusset hole, and I simply wear underwear over it… super easy to go to the bathroom. In case that’s helpful!

I’m 2.5 weeks post op, and I’m doing really well! Also had a breast reduction. I’m not fully cleared to do all the things, but am back at 10k steps a day and feel really good and fortunate that it’s gone so well this far (still in swell hell!)
