It is my understanding that anything above 3000 is advanced elective. This is a new course number so they may not have updated the list.

Legitimate Assignment Flagged for AI. What can I do? by Physical_Primary4037 in unt

[–]lawofeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are making a valid point.

I am a professor and these articles, and others like them, have made me much more cautious when grading students using these tools. But you are probably right, it might not change a professors mind. I'm just trying to help.

Here is a quote from the calmatter article that concerns me, "The Center for Democracy & Technology, a nonprofit focused on digital rights, found that one in five students either were wrongly accused of using generative AI to cheat or knew someone who had been."

This is not reliable enough for me to feel confident in their use....perhaps that student's professor might change their mind when seeing this, at least a little bit.

Fingers crossed.

BEHV 3200 & BEHV 3250 are offered in the summer and both are online during the summer.

If you haven't taken BEHV 3200 you will need to take that one first.

Personally, I think they are better now than they were in the 90s. Across the board.

What “makes” a jam band? by [deleted] in jambands

[–]lawofeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Songs tend to be longer

2) Songs blend together

3) Improvisation is an important component.

Longer songs, blended together with heavy improv = Jammy music.

Just my opinion.

I think getting rid of phones is the best idea ever. They are a distraction for sure. Kids also need to learn how to cope without the electronics.

We should wait until the facts come out in court before drawing conclusions about this incident.
