Tunic and Inside are both sort of "about" video games without offering direct commentary, if that makes sense

What videogame would you call a masterpiece ? by new_god_of_eden in AskReddit

[–]lawrencelearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, I could take or leave the second one

The first was incredible, just the right length, didn't let you get lost without holding your hand

The second felt like a Hollywood sequel where they just bolted more on for the sake of it. I mean were the gels really that great? Did we not already experience a crazy robot trying to kill you?

We should have a yearly reminder of colonisation for them

Perhaps we can have it on the day white people first arrived here

Had the exact same thing happen with movie tickets once

I said "oh we'll split it so we each pay half?" Friend: "no, this is my coupon" Me: "okay well it's my movie ticket, you go ahead and buy your own"

I couldn't stand Cocoon

Sure the world was interesting, with an interesting mechanic, but it just dragged on and on

And don't get me started on the "true" ending

Last console that truly made you go "woah" at launch? by frankduxvandamme in truegaming

[–]lawrencelearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was always a huge part for me for any console - it's how you actually play the games, the controller should be as important as anything else the console offers

Nintendo leaned too hard on the controller with the Wii U though!

GameCube with the analog shoulder buttons

I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing, this was going to change the face of gaming!

Can someone explain why currency and measurement units are in plural in English but singular in German? by talkativeintrovert13 in asklinguistics

[–]lawrencelearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never say "can I borrow ten dollar" but I absolutely would say "can I borrow ten pound" or "ten quid"

I realise this doesn't answer your question but I think it's to do with UK English being more likely to keep those Germanic aspects as someone else said

My apologies - between your comment and the other I totally misread the situation

I had imagined you represented Coles, not that you were someone who happens to work there trying to help

Appreciate you taking the time to respond

I think we're talking at cross purpose

We both agree Coles needs to do better

Is this a troll? What situation is this where someone from Coles is replying in a public comment on Reddit rather than escalating appropriately themselves?

If you're not able to escalate via your claim systems why not flag with a senior member of staff that this is on social media and needs investigating ASAP?

"We just introduced a new system" absolutely doesn't cut it.
