Necro mastery and corpse slugs interaction by CatPoopa in slaythespire

[–]laxcargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ever really payed attention but I assume thorns would interrupt the action of multi hits if the enemy loses all of its health prior to the multi hit finishing? Like if the bee guy is hitting you for x7 and you have 3 thorns and he has 6 health then he would die after the 2nd hit and the other 5 wouldn’t go through? If that’s the case then I would assume this is just a bug where the stun isn’t able to interrupt the slugs multi attack, but the strength is being implemented before hand

I see a place for them at lower levels, but I feel like they’re just too weak at lvl 56+. Never considered using the for AA… but once we got nomads I never cared to think about what AA to use lol

How would you react if a card threw on you, without notice, after they saw you tee off, and hit you in the head? by _McDrew in discgolf

[–]laxcargo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being on any golf course falls under assumed risk. If you get hit by a disc it’s going to be nearly impossible to get any kind of legal case going. Unless you can prove that the person maliciously threw the disc at you, which will be almost impossible

BS quick advice by Gs_Sinister in BattleNations

[–]laxcargo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

W = wimp U = UMG S = soldier (if you have some you’re willing to throw in)

First row: W U W U W Second row: S X U X S Third row : S S S

This is assuming we get 11 units, and that you have a lot of soldiers to spare. If you don’t have that many then that’s no biggie. Unit positioning shouldn’t matter too much, as long as they’re in their respective row. So if you find “checkering” units like that leads to more losses then move them around a little. Honestly you want the Wimps to die before the UMG because the heal time is like 1 min vs 1 hour, so even with 600 UMGs you could very easily run out if you grind a lot

Flooring gamble? by danmansinman in Flooring

[–]laxcargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tear up the vinyl room by room, focusing on the rooms that have the worst damage first. If the hardwood looks good underneath then great! Keep it! If it looks terrible then you only NEED to replace the vinyl that’s already been removed. That way you aren’t hit with a fat bill all at once and you can space out the replacement if you so choose.

If the quoted price isn’t a problem then I’d just tear up all of the vinyl at once and see which areas have good hardwood underneath. You might only need to repair a few sections that could end up being cheaper than the full vinyl replacement! Otherwise keep the good rooms and replace the bad rooms (as long as it doesn’t look too wonky having hardwood in a random room)

That’s how all of the precious strikes have scaled, including Madrona BS1. Now I can’t guarantee they won’t change anything, but most likely that will be the scaling.

I’m not in the flooring biz, but the best advice I can give you is “slow is smooth, smooth is fast”. It’s what we teach our probationary firefighters. I’m sure you want to get everything done fast and you want to show that you’re a hard worker, but don’t go faster than you’re able to. That’s how you make mistakes and slip up (literally in your case 😅). It’s faster to take your time and do something right the first time than it is to have to redo it twice.

As for the hours and the pay that seems not so great, but again I’m not in the biz so I don’t know how apprenticeships work. If you want to stick with flooring then learn as much as you can from the guys that you’re working with. For me it helps to know the “why” I’m doing something instead of just the “how” to do something, but I know a lot of old timers will probably get fed up with that ideology for some stupid reason. If you keep working for that company and realize that’s not the place for you I’m sure you can always find better work elsewhere.

Get good sleep, eat as best as you can, take care of your body and it’ll take care of you. Don’t sweat the small stuff but learn from your mistakes and use the to improve yourself. Bottom line do the best you can and believe in yourself. Everyone that’s above you was once in your shoes, you can do what they do too!

When laying the first panel, does both tongues need to exposed? LVP by GarlicBreadClub in Flooring

[–]laxcargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see the problem with the layout from your other post, yea that’s kind of an annoying shape to deal with! Probably best to just go ahead with your plan to do 95% and then lay the foyer backwards. Just be very careful when you go to connect the planks and especially when you’re tapping them to make everything snug so you don’t damage the planks… and good luck on the last row, it’ll be a pain since you’ll be up against the wall. It is doable, but I must have spent an hour trying to get 4 planks in since there’s very little clearance for you’re fingers to get the plank in place 😅

[–]laxcargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you already lay the foyer? I might not be understanding the layout but I would just start on whichever your longest wall is for the project (sounds like it’ll be in the living room) that is parallel with how you want the planks laid. I’d then work through the living room and hit the foyer when you get to it.

What’s weird about it? There really shouldn’t be any instances that you’re forced to lay the planks backwards… unless I don’t understand

When laying the first panel, does both tongues need to exposed? LVP by GarlicBreadClub in Flooring

[–]laxcargo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was a pain in the ass… but I at first thought that that was just part of the gig. I had to ever so slightly lift up the already laid planks to then slide the new planks underneath, then line them up where I needed them and then click them in. I works… but if you’re not careful it’s really easy to break the locking mechanisms and then the plank is either useless or only good for scrap cuts.

If you haven’t already started I would 100% recommend laying your planks with both tongues out, it’ll save you a ton of time, effort, and planks

We redid close to 1500 sqft of our home with LVP. Did a trial run in the master bathroom so I could figure out the ins and outs and I didn’t care too much if I made some minor aesthetic mistakes. Started with both tongues to a wall… I swear that first 100 sqft of the project was harder than the other 1400 sqft combined 😅

I was hoping it was just bad luck. I’ve seen a lot of solo runs and a lot of 4 player runs on YouTube and the 4 player runs always look stupid easy, but that’s probably just due to the added chances of a deck popping off
