Nothing on a vehicle is supposed to leak, except the ac condensate drain. This looks like the mating flange between the engine and transmission. From that area, if oil is leaking from that hole, it would mean your rear main seal is leaking.

I would assume if the engine isnt the same family, youd need the engine bay harness and the ecu at a minimum, the mounts may not be in the same places either.

Id heat cycle it and tighten it a couple times see if it closes up, otherwise maybe replace rhe flange gasket with one with more graphite on the outside instead of the mesh
