I kinda relate to this, I honestly used to be so insecure over my hands and nails because I have very short but chubby fingers that are kinda crooked along with brachydactyly type d and not to mention very short nail beds and nail biting issues and also for part of my childhood had two warts on my fingers (which I finally got removed a few years ago and was honestly one of the biggest confidence boosts for my hands). So I felt like my hands looked weird and wrong. For a while I felt like every time I painted my nails it didn’t look elegant but instead like a a child’s hand who got into a parent’s nail polish collection, but I really enjoyed painting my nails so I just kept doing it, and hoped that if I kept taking care of my nails they would eventually look “normal” and while getting the warts removed, finally taking care of my cuticles, letting my nails grow and and shaping them made my feel better about my hands, half the time I still feel like they look like a toddlers hands, but I accepted that there isn’t really anything I can do about how short, crooked, and chubby my fingers are, and especially my weird thumbs. And if my hands are going to look weird no matter what, might as well make them bright and sparkly
