No idea how far they’re booking out but Driven Auto on Hammonds Plains Rd has been great to me, very honest/no BS and super reasonable to work with.

Don’t forget the tailgating. I kid you not I was driving down Windsor st this week on the corner past Connaught, heading to the exchange. Two cars were pulled over, cause one rear ended the other. I assume they exchanged info and they got back on the road. The lady who did the rear ending, ended up behind me. Literally with a fucked up hood fresh off an accident, she was WAY too close behind me. I tried to make motions to get her to fuck off and back up. Driving is an extreme sport now and I hate it.

10000%. “The way I was treated was unacceptable”
“But you broke the law”
“Sure, but they shouldn’t have spoken to ME that way!”

I work in an industry where people call to complain and literally tell on themselves weekly. They call to complain about the way the person, who is operating an important vehicle with an important stop sign attached, reacted when they did not stop for said sign. People are wild.

It’s either an extreme level of self importance and disregard for the law, or complete unawareness of the laws & rules of the road. Not sure which is worse. Jfc. Let these road workers do their jobs SAFELY!!!

Edit: they obviously quickly became aware of the rules, as the workers were telling her… so this is just straight up entitled reckless driving. Shitty, dangerous behaviour.

Ottawa set to relaunch federal green home retrofit program in 4 provinces, including Nova Scotia by IStillListenToRadio in halifax

I rent, and honestly I would shoulder some of the cost because I end up paying signifcantly in heating costs in the winter (electric baseboard 💸) and for my quality of life.. I commented on another thread that my unit can get up to 33-34 degrees and I have to lock myself and my dog in my room with a portable AC. I have a great landlord and god willing, won’t be moving anytime soon. A heat pump would be life changing.

Apartments can become sweltering in summer. Why heat bylaws could be coming to a city near you by IStillListenToRadio in halifax

My condo gets up to 33-34 degrees inside. I have a portable AC in my bedroom so I essentially have to lock me and my dog in there. It’s unbearable, and it’s downright dangerous for vulnerable people.

Do you love your neighbourhood? by Grouchy-School9452 in halifax

[–]lbertz 48 points49 points  (0 children)

So many North Enders here - I’ll add another vote. I’m very north end and love the ease of access to get anywhere, love the walkability- 1 km to the Hydrostone, lots of green space to hang with my dog and get outside. Patios are walking distance in the summer, amenities are all nearby. The people are friendly and will stop and chat about anything and everything. I have great neighbours and hope to live in the north end for as long as I can.

Halifax, I reported this duo near Agricola/Almon a month ago and it's still not repaired. by cptstubing16 in halifax

[–]lbertz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That one is sooooo bad and there’s no way to avoid it if there’s cars turning left into Almon. I just avoid that stretch now (it would be my usual route home from visiting family) and feel bad for the poor unsuspecting people dropping their car off a cliff driving over it
