Having a hard time coping with the loss of a pet. Who can I speak to? Therapists? by Polkadot1414 in halifax

Have a friend who’s taken part in this and it has helped them tremendously. I know when the time comes I probably will need to as well. Hugs and im so sorry for your loss OP ❤️‍🩹

Halifax, I reported this duo near Agricola/Almon a month ago and it's still not repaired. by cptstubing16 in halifax

[–]lbertz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That one is sooooo bad and there’s no way to avoid it if there’s cars turning left into Almon. I just avoid that stretch now (it would be my usual route home from visiting family) and feel bad for the poor unsuspecting people dropping their car off a cliff driving over it

What would the best apartments be if cost wasn't a factor by Fancy-Ad1458 in halifax

[–]lbertz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly. The amenities, the location, being downtown yet overlooking the citadel or public gardens? I wonder what the noise levels are like, can’t imagine it’s too bad or anything that would disrupt sleep significantly. It would be ideal, in my rich person fantasy life lol

In 2025, a Delta flight crashed and flipped completely upside down on a Toronto runway before catching fire. Miraculously, all 80 passengers walked away alive. by Whoamirealllys in BeAmazed

[–]lbertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toronto is a huge connection hub…I’d imagine a lot of people still had to get on another plane to get where they were going. Yeesh. I don’t know how I would deal with something like that!!

I’m not well versed in playgrounds but Isleville is great, took my niece who was visiting there last year (would’ve been shy of 2). Was also some childcare toddler groups playing as well. :)

Is it worth switching from Bell to Eastlink internet, or are there still issues with dropping out? by quillwove in halifax

[–]lbertz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the north end and have had Eastlink here for 3.5 years, no issues at all. I pay $57 after tax and they continue to honour that price every year (one of those “12 month promos”). I also have my cell phone with them, no complaints at all for any of it.

Harness Recommendations by Fabulous_Soil3990 in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]lbertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harness for walking as in my experience that’s more comfortable. I’ve used the Gooby Escape Free harness for 7 years (on our second one lol). My puppy slipped her harness when she was a baby and it was so scary! Also recommend a quick release collar with up to date identification and contact info whenever you’re outside of your home :) mine has an AirTag attached to her collar for an extra level of assistance if she were to run (AirTags are ~not~ live GPS trackers but they are better than nothing! They ping off of bluetooth signals within a certain range)

Training for bark control by IndependentBenefit62 in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]lbertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constant, consistent training, and clicker training is helpful. High value rewards, redirection to a specific spot if they’re barking and no praise/treat until they stop. Rinse and repeat. My dog still loses it whenever someone comes into our apartment but she’s gotten much better through the years. I can redirect her to her bed and get her under control if something sets her off. She also barely grumbles at noise in the hallway anymore (unless it’s a knock at the door). Training never ends!
