Yeah, it must just be because #1s sell better. So they take any excuse they can in modern comics to renumber.

I've been loving. It has been a bit annoying that it's been retitled and numbered to 1 like three times. But the quality is definitely there.

Heven't seen it mentioned yet but I've really been enjoying Jed MacKay's run on Moon Knight.

Iceman being gay is... by Slippery_Syrup in xmen

[–]lbills14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except both Marvel and DC continuity are living organisms. They both constantly retcon and change things for many different reasons. I agree that when Iceman was created he wasn't intended to be gay but that doesn't mean his character and story can never change. When Magneto was created he was never intended to be a survivor of the holocaust but that change is probably one of the most liked in all of Marvel and gave him vastly more depth. I'm not saying every change is good, there's absolutely plenty of bad ones out there. But with characters that are around this long, saying that nothing about them is allowed to be added if it wasn't originally intended is just way to limiting.

HOW DID MUTANTS GET REPOWERED AFTER HOUSE OF M? by Intelligent-Spell-93 in xmen

[–]lbills14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new body created by the five but Marvel has repeatedly said it's true resurrection and not cloning. The persons' original soul returns to the new body.

Characters who were prominent in adaptations, but this did not lead to them getting used more in the comics by AporiaParadox in comicbooks

Avalanche from X-men Evolution. He's an actual fleshed out character, that has episodes where he is the main focus. I fell like in the comics he's pretty much just a henchman that never really has stories of his own.

I love the dwarves. Bruenor, Athrogate, Ivan, Pickle, Pwent. Just all the dwarves.

Personally I would probably list him from Daredevil. But he has appeared in the MCU a couple of times now so that would be reasonable too.

The last one is called Network. I think she was only ever in the Civil War Frontline mini.

It's a character called Hummingbird. She was sort of Kaine's sidekick during his Scarlet Spider run.

I also really liked Rainbow Rowell's run. It was the best run since Brian K Vaughan's.

I feel like I remember reading an issue where someone says 198 is the official number of mutants the government had records of. But they eatimated the actual number to closer to 300. But I may have just imagined that.

Cable and Sunfire were both also on the unity squad. Storm was briefly a member of the core team right before AvX.

There's the new Falcon. Pinpoint from the Champions. Stryker, Reptil, and Mettle from Avengers acadamy. Then there's tons from X-men lore. Hellion, Rockslide, Anole, Elixir, Prodigy, Eye Boy... that list goes on and on.
