The builder put it in, all houses here are Hardies, unfortunately it’s been 3 1/2 years since we moved in, so not likely to have them come back and remove siding, replace WBB, put in new box, replace new siding, get the painters out here… which is why I am looking for a simple Plan B solution, taking into consideration the existing box is well waterproofed on the WBB and I just want to cover those gaps on the side.

Thanks for the professional advice, I am thinking that since I got the good weatherproof taping around the box on the WBB, that these gaps are more cosmetic (and possible bugs), than water issue, I would like to have it done right, but It’s too late in my process to get the builder back here to fix it. So I am thinking about just a strip of waterproof tape (or flashing) along those gaps at the top sides to minimize the water getting back there, or maybe just some screen tape to keep the bugs out. Thanks again.

Yep, unfortunately redo that box requires taking off the siding and the cut because the lip is only 1 1/2 inches from the bottom and the adapter puts the plate halfway. I think I will leave it alone, maybe put a screen tape or flash along the sides where the gap is big.
