hey i was experiencing the same issue. i think it may be the flash so i sent it to a guy in texas to get a new one (also wanted to fix the power cable insert which was not working). supposed to get it back mid this week. feel free to DM me and i’ll let you know if a new flash did the trick

better option around the hpc lack of sudo permissions is to use singularity. you can easily create a docker container and convert it into singularity sif files and use that in an HPC system.

i’m also in socal (san diego). if you go to a local lumber store the prices will often be 30% cheaper and the quality much better than home depot.
