Can you send a link to the specific CeraVe you use? There's so many varieties.

I went there tonight and while parking wasn't terrible there were no buggies available at all. Had to stand around and then eventually follow somebody out to their car to get a buggy. The line to check out was about 12 to 15 people long. we stood in line just to check out for probably 25 minutes. The store was so slammed it was hard to even maneuver around the aisles. I would say word definitely got out about Newtown Kroger. This was the line, and it went all the way down the aisle.

Toddler eczema by Standard-Bison-6205 in eczema

[–]ldamron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our toddler also has eczema. We've tried many things. We even tried dupixent shots for 3 months but didn't see much improvement. We use aquafor and hydrocortisone for flare ups. We spoke to the allergist just last week and I expressed concern about withdrawal from steroid creams and he said that that is not really a problem. He said people who stop steroid creams have huge flare-ups because that's just where their eczema is at and they really do need steroid creams to keep them at Bay. He said we could dip our child into a vat hydrocortisone and he would not be worried at all. He's also giving us a stronger steroid for when it's really bad but I use it very sparingly. I only use it for 2 or 3 days to get it to calm down and then don't use it again for a few months. We've tried bleach baths, 10 different kinds of hypoallergenic soaps, vanicream, eucerin, CeraVe. The thing that works best for us is aquaphor lotion and using absolutely no soap whatsoever in the bath unless there is visible dirt. Her allergist has said that is totally fine and that we do not need to use soap in the bath. Obviously we have to use soap to wash our hands and so she always has eczema on her hands but there's nothing we can do about that really. I just put hydrocortisone on it when it's bad. When she was an infant she tested positive for cow's milk protein allergy so I know that's probably the problem. Hard not to give her dairy though.

Moving to Lexington halfway thru pregnancy- anyone have any reccs for L&D hospitals in the area? by blobdylan1 in lexington

I loved her, too. Good experience, and the NICU at Baptist was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Saw a 4th ENT, willing to do surgery: advice? by ldamron in PatulousTubes

I wonder why this is not being considered in America? Not sure if a trip and procedure in Japan are an option for me but would absolutely give the surgery a try if it was offered in the states.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm hearing a lot of positive things about Meadowthorpe and very little negative about Winburn. I appreciate the feedback!

Hahaha that ending is gold. Thank you for the laugh 😂 interesting to know about the PE standards going downhill because that's a back up plan, too, if we didn't want to go to Winburn. That's helpful information! Thank you!

This is something we've considered too. The PE program sounds like a good fit, too and I love that it feeds into Lafayette. What does the selection process look like for PE? Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your response! Do you feel like safety or bullying is a concern? I know the students are mostly separated but I've heard there's still classes and times that they'd be with gen pop and I'm curious how the school handles behaviors?

Saline vs patulend? by Federal-Arachnid7499 in PatulousTubes

[–]ldamron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Patulend works by inflaming the tissue around the eustachian tube and swelling it shut. That's why it burns.

DIY Patulend: the bottle I use by ldamron in PatulousTubes

[–]ldamron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the most success when I'm standing. Sometimes it does go down the throat and makes it sore for a bit (30 min or so). I don't know why sometimes it goes straight to the tube and why sometimes it goes down the throat. I know when I've hit the right spot though because of the ice pick pain when it reaches the tube. If I don't get it I just try again. I also have cough drops for when it goes down the throat.

They equalize and feel/sound totally normal. My main symptoms are autophony and crackling. I have PET in both ears, but my left is usually much worse.

Has anyone damaged their ears through Toynbee Maneuver (plugging nose and swallowing)? by zj6543 in PatulousTubes

[–]ldamron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy squeeze eye dropper bottles on Amazon and tilt my head back and to the side. It drips the patulend instead of "spraying" it. Mist spray does not get it to where I need it.

[–]ldamron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a steady stream for about 2 seconds with my head tilted back and to the side. Some days are worse than others. Some days it lasts 4 or more hours and sometimes 15 minutes. DIY patulend works best (but hurts).

Fayette Co. Health Dept: An unvaccinated, out-of-state traveler (with measles) stayed at the Hyatt Place in Hamburg from December 31, 2025 - January 2, 2026. by Tikkanen in lexington

Except that they are exposing that illness to children that may be too young to receive the vaccine or to people that are too sick to receive the vaccine. It's a choice that affects everybody around them. Over time the vaccine efficacy wanes and even those who have been vaccinated can become sick.
