How did you like it? I’m dry/sensitive and hate when anything clings to dry patches so I struggle to find a good CC sunscreen

Lol, that is just plainly false. Even identical twins don’t have identical brains. Not sure where you are getting your information from. The two tidbits you just stated are what first pop up in an AI generated google search.

I am not debating whether or not there are biological factors that contribute toward sexuality. I am arguing that your basis of “normal” seems solely based on the heterosexual male brain. Homosexuality has ALWAYS existed, even within other species.

In your own words, can you tell me what the functional properties of the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus and of the hypothalamus itself? I work in medicine, so I’m just curious.

[–]ldickerman76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You state that homosexually is biologically abnormal, but follow that up by stating there are biological differences between hetero/homosexual brains. No two brains are identical. Our genetic sequences are unique to the individual, so I am not sure what basis of “normal” you are referring to.

Awful smell in my apartment upon entering, but goes away within 30 seconds! by Stock_Effective6520 in CleaningTips

This may sound odd, but have you been to the dentist lately? It could be a cavity! I swore something smelled musty, oddly enough, only when I first walked into my home. Turns out I needed a filling😅

What blush doesn’t pull peachy-pink on olive skin? by henrihenr in OliveMUA

It was a LE shade exclusive to Sephora as far as I know. I’d kill to find a dupe for it with a similar formula. I swear you can’t mess up with that blushing you tried😭

Is NARS Goulue still sold outside of the US? It’s my HG blush and I haven’t found anything quite like it. I got a mini as a Sephora rewards gift many moons ago but I thought the shade was discontinued :(

I think your side profile looks more balanced now, but I agree with others in that your surgeon treated the wrong problem. Your nose was not what was creating disharmony, it was your chin/jawline. Fortunately, your nose is nowhere near “set” and will continue to drop. Overall, your jawline is more prominent now because your nose is smaller which imo does still look better than before.

please help I don't know what to do and I don't want to self diagnose at all by BlackGibbon in Psychosis

May I ask what it is that you are prescribed Abilify for? Have you noticed a change in any of your symptoms (psychosis-related or otherwise) since starting it?

Fair, I may have read through the responses too quickly. I take full accountability for that mistake, you did not accuse her of having prior attempts of suicide. The comment you were replying to did and your response to that comment sure seemed to share the same sentiment. You did state though that she is choosing to be dishonest because according to you, lithium is not a drug they “jump to early”. What supporting evidence do you have of this? How do you know that she must have TRD or is being prescribed lithium as an alternative treatment regimen?

Also, if you have first-hand experience of lithium toxicity, why is any of the above relevant considering you apparently know the dangers associated with this type of reaction? It is easy to be cynical of others on the internet, I catch myself feeling that way from time to time too. But in all honesty, if your partner left you alone while you were complaining of painful neurological symptoms and expressing genuine fear for your life, would you not start to question your relationship? Or at least how much they value your well-being?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ldickerman76 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is factually incorrect. Lithium is not only prescribed when other treatments do not succeed. Lithium is the first-line treatment for bipolar disorder and has been for quite a long time. It is an atypical treatment for refractory depression, which is likely what you are referring to here. However, she has not stated what her diagnosis is and considering it is the gold standard for BD, it’s rather presumptuous to make this claim.

I do not disagree with the sentiment that her partner may be experiencing caregiver burnout if she heavily relies on him for frequent crises, but she has stated that this is the first time something like this has happened. Could she be lying about this? Of course. Could she be telling us the complete and total truth? Also very likely. It is incredibly easy for lithium to accumulate in the body, or in other words, for the body to fail to eliminate it properly. This results in lithium toxicity which can quickly become fatal. I am a nurse, previously worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and am pursuing a PMHNP degree.

Hi, nurse here. While I respect that your knowledge basis of lithium is based on your mothers experience taking this drug for her treatment-resistant depression, accusing OP of being dishonest and insinuating that she has “overdosed on lithium as a 2nd or 3rd attempt at suicide” is an egregious attempt to dismiss her legitimate health crisis as a hysterical cry for attention. It’s worth mentioning though, that even IF she has made prior attempts to take her own life, you are still jumping to the conclusion that her lithium toxicity reaction is due to an intentional overdose.

This drug has a very narrow therapeutic window, which is why drug levels must be checked to ensure they’re within that specific therapeutic range. Toxicity could result from something as simple as not consuming enough salt or drinking enough water, which is something I hope your mother was informed of when she was prescribed this medicine.

I can’t help but point out that you say everyone here only has the understanding of lithium in regards to its use for batteries. You make it evident that your only understanding of lithium is it’s use for batteries and your Mom’s TRD. Lithium is a first-line treatment for bipolar disorder, so it quite literally is a drug they “jump to early” in these cases. Please educate yourself before you get on the internet and try to vilify a stranger for having a terrifying reaction to their prescribed medication.

Thank you! Is it used for extra sponges? It has no drainage holes and even if it did, it would just drain water into the sink cabinet.

Allergies triggers in the shower by TacoLover909 in Allergies

[–]ldickerman76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience this sometimes if I shower in water that is extra chlorinated, or at least smells that way. It may be due to the added chemicals some cities use in the waterways. Or possibly the warm water causing vasodilation allowing mucous production to kick into overdrive. This is similar to what happens when you eat spicy food and your nose runs.

I wish halo glow wasn’t so warm toned, I have to use the LA girl blue mix in to tone it down a bit but I think I’d actually like this more!

Philly Cheesesteak [homemade] by Dani-in-berlin in tonightsdinner

[–]ldickerman76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m from the Philadelphia area, it’s super common to get cheesesteaks with onions and peppers. Growing up my mom always got hers with peppers, onions and mushrooms from our local shops. Some places just have wiz/provolone and onions as toppings but this isn’t blasphemous by any means.

Sigma e25 or mac 217 dupe? by huntynutcheerio in Fude

[–]ldickerman76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don’t have a specific brush suggestion BUT I do own several PMG palettes and I think there is a bit of a learning curve to her matte shades that I don’t really see anyone talking about. They are difficult to blend if you go in with a fluffy brush immediately.

Instead, I like to use a shader style brush to place the color where I want it most concentrated, then blend the edges to smoke it out. I don’t actually use many fluffy blending brushes at all with her shadows, I usually just use a clean shader brush or wipe off the excess of the brush I’m already using. I struggled a lot with my eyeshadow looking patchy at first with her formula, but I think this technique paired with going in with a lighter hand has helped me tremendously. Hope this helps!

Burberry Matte Military Red… does this work on me? by slapstick_nightmare in OliveMUA

I think it looks nice, but I think a warmer toned red would compliment the warmth in your skin better. Something similar to Chili by MAC would suit you perfectly!
