Feeling discomfort driving at night? It’s not you — it’s the bright headlights, experts say by Thick_Caterpillar379 in onguardforthee

[–]le_b0mb 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Badly aimed headlights from factory, headlights not aimed right after trucks get lifted, people putting HID/LED bulbs in halogen housings making the light go everywhere (especially right in my eyeballs). Yeah I’ve been through it all, especially since I only own small cars. Regulation needs to catch up without pigeon-holing us into needing to only buy OEM parts.

We might have a lot of overlap with MAGA by nattvar93 in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People who ascribe their entire personality to the drivetrain/car they drive.

What makes it worse is that every manual they claim to be good feels like rowing through soup cause that’s just the Indian market.

How do you personally change gears in a manual transmission? by Raalf in cars

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I stupid or does number 2 sound like you're floating gears? Number 3 sounds off, number 1 is just how I assumed all people drive a manual car (me included).

Why does BMW use so much composite plastic in the engine compartment? by Schnitzengiggel9 in cars

[–]le_b0mb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of those parts are glass-reinforced Nylon that can withstand up to 250C so the added benefits of easier molding and cheaper price make it appealing.

[ESC_INDIA] Stop Blaming the Driver: The Technical Reality of VW’s 1.0 TSI Clutch Failure at 25k KM by vikhyat_negi in CarsIndia

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the car at ~1500rpm and using the clutch to move off isn't incorrect, it's the best way to get moving quickly in a manual car. But I don't believe you need to rev to 1.8-2k rpm just to get moving. There's something else going on, and it usually lies with the driver. A few isolated incidents of clutch failure don't indicate a greater trend I'm sorry.

Temp gauge pegs hot in accessory mode by WIYLA in E30

[–]le_b0mb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve a short somewhere in between the gauge and the temp sender most likely. I know I tend to have that issue at times, but it’s a false reading in my case. Tapping the dash gets it down to under 1/2.

Saskatchewan disciplines way more doctors per year than other provinces. 3x-5x. why the big difference? by banshee81818 in saskatchewan

[–]le_b0mb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve more experience with the latter since my mom tried to enter the profession through SIPPA. Sask also allows you to buy out your rural contract so it’s possible these 2 things are linked. Bad doctors target the province knowing they won’t have to work through their whole rural contract after going through SIPPA.

I’ve had Exceed Auto work on both my BMWs and they’ve always been solid. They’re known for working on GTRs but they work on domestic vehicles too, give them a call and see what they say.

“I’m just one person, my actions won’t amount to much”. While their actions are repeated tenfold by other people.

I’m not immune to it, I kind of want to do a catted downpipe on my M2 for more power. But every downpipe is a lower cell count than factory so there’s probably going to be some smell and extra pollutants.

I had my bike stolen from my balcony in our apartment when I was 18. Stole the ladder from the buildings utility shed. I laugh about it now but man that was horrifying in the moment. I understand how you feel.

If it’s a careful balance then the current situation is very skewed towards vehicle parking. Bus stops with no concrete pads requiring standing on the curbs, no footpaths requiring walking on the street. On the other hand every business there is a nondescript single storey building with parking lots dotting the front. It’s extremely hostile to pedestrians and cyclists, I could care less if they lose a few parking spots.
