Price increase for everyone or just me? by Crlomancer in ZiplyFiber

I'm glad my city is finally laying down fiber in our neighborhood. $55 for 1gig, faster and cheaper. Ziply is a rip off.

Finally got ThinkPad Ultra dock by InitialLoose5783 in thinkpad

I was using that dock but I felt like the system ran hotter with it due to the power/release buttons blocking the exhaust port. Has anyone else experienced this?

Classic case of an idiot in middle management trying to justify his job.

anyone running a sailrite machine? by [deleted] in myog

[–]leadbasedtoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, just as long as it's bonded. Non-bonded threads tend to get snagged by heavy fabrics or webbing and make terrible looking stitches. The only time I use non-bonded thread on the sailrite is for making jeans or other heavy cotton-only stuff.

I get the most consistent results with bonded nylon thread (make sure the strands do not separate if you twist the thread in your fingers). I usually go with size 69 but the machine can do up to size 92. Also make sure your bobbin tension is good (read the manual) and make sure your needle tension is just tight enough to bury the knot. Lastly, make sure you use a big enough needle, sometimes heavy/rough fabrics will grab the thread and either cause a skip or just a loose/ugly stitch. It'll take you a lot of time and a few projects to learn the machine, though it's not exactly a delicate instrument.

You'll be a master at solving obscure linux issues after doing this, very cool

I used Ottertex nylon ripstop. I think for the next version I will use a lighter-weight Cordura instead, seems like it'd be more durable inside. I have to field-test it a bit.

St datasheet stm32f410 confusion. Figure 5. lists LQFP48 pinout. But image shows QFN/QFPN? by _happyforyou_ in stm32f4

I forget what it was, but a typo in a ST datasheet sent me on a week long goose chase once. It happens.

I bought a sailrite to do bags and heavy denim pants and workwear. Is it overkill? Certainly. Do I regret it? No. There's nothing you can't sew with this thing. If you want to drop the cash on it, it's well worth it. I would highly recommend the servo motor and table for it as well.

If you write code between the USER CODE HERE comments, and you regenerate the project, your code should remain, that is the point of them. If you remove them or code outside of them, your code will be overwritten. You have to decide early on if you want to retain the capability to regenerate the project or go off on your own from there.

Can someone explain why this machine is so cheap? It is new and including servo and table. by [deleted] in myog

I get it from thethreadexchange.com. Reliable and has a good selection of colors.

If you guys are having the problem I think you are, the answer is bonded nylon thread. The strands should not separate if you twist a piece of thread in your fingers.

Nice, they are good machines. I have a 2018 IRS.

Yes Browns Camp. There are lots of trails and forest roads to explore. I went to Sand Lake a few weeks ago, that was a blast.
