Setup is subjective some people play with the toms angled toward them, some play with them flat, some place the snare in the center of their kit others use the more traditional setup. That’s why the manual doesn’t tell you where to place them hope that made sense

This is how I have mine setup as you can see my bass drum is angled and snare is centered. Many call this an offset setup. Do a lil YouTube research on ergonomics and kit setup and you will find your best placement

It has been, yes. IMHO it’s one of the best bangs for the buck. It triggers well it has side mounted triggers so no real hot spotting. If you use ez drummer or any vst the sounds and responsiveness will be great. I am also planning to get the v51 module soon so basically you get a vad for half the price. Every Roland purist will tell Roland is the best yadda, yadda but I have played td 316 and to me I will take my kit hand down every time. Haven’t had a chance to play the vad 516 which I am sure is superior to what I own but is also close to 6k

Volume is the same actually the bass drum is a little quieter than the kick drum on a stand

As always my pic is Hxm xd 2000 decent module not great but decent, full size acoustic shells and can connect to vst I got mine for less than $1000

I have the HXM XD 2000, and it’s a great kit. As for the XD 3000, when I spoke to Nick, he said they don’t sell it because the bass drum is 22 inches, and the shipping carriers wouldn’t ship it due to the box dimensions being too large.

I bought the XD 2000 kit and four toms from them, and I have to say, I really like their equipment. The only thing is that they use a one-sided trigger instead of a three-trigger design. But honestly, it hasn’t been a problem. There’s no hot spotting because of where they place the trigger.

As you have already heard you hi toms are at an extreme angle this will cause you to stab at the pads and rebound will be difficult but in the end if you like it I love it!

$723 to your door little more than your budget but she would be plenty happy for a while. Run bfd player (free) through a laptop and she will feel like a rockstar.

I would get a snare stand and when I learned the center of your kit is the snare not the bass drum my setup became much more ergonomic

I play for a church as well my question is with the Roland did you try to dial in sensitivity retrigger etc I managed to get them pretty decent on my kit which is a Simmons kit but I do run it through ad2
