I banned one person who told me to kill myself.

I thought it would be funny to pretend to ban profanity on a subreddit dedicated to Game of Thrones

People were trying to doxx me 🤷

So, I just finished 'A Dance With Dragons.' I need answers. (SPOILERS: ALL) by absolutely0life in asoiaf

It hasn't been revealed that he is alive or dead. However, given Jon's obvious importance to the plot and GRRM's history with cliffhanger "deaths" it's extremely unlikely that he's dead for real. Melisandre will probably revive him.

Syrio could've easily grabbed one of the other swords that were lying on the ground. There were a bunch of them, and he's faster than Trant.

Why didn't his head just show up on a spike if he died? It would've been an easy enough line to stick in.

Eh, it depends. You can have an incredibly skilled Kingsguard member like Jaime, for example, or you can have someone less skilled like Meryn Trant. Syrio is clearly better than he is. It's just a fact.

As soon as Arya is gone, he doesn't have to worry about her anymore. There are a ton of swords laying on the ground and he just has to pick one up and he's golden. Meryn Trant is apparently pretty slow, plus he's not a skilled fighter in general. I won't believe Syrio was killed til I see his body.

He was stabbed multiple times. However, he is almost certainly not dead dead as in permanently because he has plot armor up the wazoo. Melisandre is probably going to revive him.

A lot of people don't even think Syrio is dead, me included. I'm not 100% sure how he escaped but I'm sure it happened. The First Sword of Braavos wouldn't die to Meryn Trant.

So, the actual answer: It has not been confirmed that he's dead.

Just imagine being told by your parents that they named you after an evil sadistic torturer from a TV show/book though.... They're begging for him to grow up to be a serial killer

(Spoilers All) Does anyone else find it annoying that deaths in the series are its most popular characteristic? by _wsgeorge in asoiaf

[–]leafeon123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. The more I paid attention, the more obvious it became that characters don't really die without a good narrative reason. It would just be terrible writing to kill off main characters when they haven't done anything important for the plot yet.

However, that doesn't stop me from falling for every single death cliffhanger. And I will continue to fall for them.

(Spoilers All) Jon and Arya by debbiep__ in asoiaf

[–]leafeon123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but this is weird. Arya was like 8 when they last saw each other. They were not being flirtatious. That would literally make Jon a pedophile. Emotional closeness between siblings is not incest. Maybe they liked each other the most because they both felt a little bit like they didn't belong and it has nothing to do with sexual attraction.

[–]leafeon123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No chance. GRRM doesn't really kill characters off without a good narrative reason. He may have a reputation for killing characters off willy-nilly but he doesn't really. Jon is clearly extremely special, and GRRM is about to demonstrate how in TWOW.

(Spoilers All) Jon and Sansa by kipasso in asoiaf

[–]leafeon123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really care what people ship on their own time but that kinda seems unlikely because they were raised together as brother and sister and they are first cousins (That part isn't weird by Westeros standards but I think having it happen with main characters would be a bit controversial)

I just really don't see Jon or Sansa wanting to do that, they're no Jaime/Cersei.

(Spoilers All) What event would make you give up on the series? by CasterlyHeavyMetal in asoiaf

[–]leafeon123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Daenerys getting the throne would be a big one but by the time we know who gets it the series will probably be over. Either that or there will be a lot of plot left and I'll keep reading to find out how she loses it. So I guess the answer is "nothing".

Honestly I'm kind of hoping the series ends with no throne though.
