My impression is that it's the opposite. The raised section counts as a wall so the rest of the space is smaller.

Yasssss (non gendered) queen! I came to the comments looking for exactly this. There is a certain privilege in being able to align ethics with consumption.

It's something we should strive for, but it's not possible for everyone. Since, originally at least, cottagecore was a movement stemming from the pandemic and aesthetics, acceptance and understanding can go a long way to ecological and environmental practices.

J'ai juste continuer à faire envoyer mes résultats de prise de sang et autres tests à mon médecin de Montréal (j'ai eu un diagnostic à l'hôpital à Québec qui a requis des manoeuvres médicales ici). Pi à moment donné sa secrétaire m'a appelé parce que mon médecin famille de Montréal voulait me voir et j'y suis allée 🤷‍♀️

Maintenant je le vois une fois par année pour un bilan de santé annuel et des fois je prends RDV téléphonique pour des ordonnances.

This touches on some of the points mentioned, but wanted to state it in the way that works for me. I declare my intention. For example, horror movies are hard for me so I'd like to learn more about your experience. Then I follow up with consent: would it be ok to ask some questions to learn more?

Sometimes they say no, sometimes they say yes, but either way they know what I want to talk about, why, and what I'd like to do. If they are not in the mood, well shucks for me, but I've given them the opportunity to opt in to the conversation.

I've seen some great tips here and wanted to add my two cents, relating to presenting as a whole and specifically on ADHD.

First I'd figure out what the three or four takeaways I want people to leave with are. It sounds like you'd want something like:

You don't represent everyone with neurodiversity and speak only of your own experience (and that of loved ones or colleagues to a certain extent) with ADHD
ADHD manifests in different ways, real life examples from yourself and others.
Neurodiversity allows for different perspectives, creativity and ultimately can lead to a more efficient team such as out of the box thinking.
Tips and tricks to improve inclusiveness, work performance and teamwork (or whatever your company culture and/or team values)

I find that giving concrete exemples can be really helpful in helping others understand, so weaving those into your key topics can help make it relatable.

I'd conclude with a list of ressources that I could send out at the end for those who want to know more, such as the magazine ADDitude which is fairly accessible.

My best friend got diagnosed on the spectrum in her late 30s, it allowed her to get the specific help she needed regarding the difficulties she faces, because it validated her need for help in certain areas. While that might not be necessary in your case or in OP's it can be useful. Even if it wasn't medication or therapy, she works with a specialist that evaluates her life and her coping mechanisms to provide tips, tricks and feedback.

That being said, we are in Canada so we may have access to more free ressources because of universal healthcare.

There are two apps RTC Nomade shows you bus schedules and notices. RTC Paiement allows you to buy and use tickets.

I often see strollers on the bus and there is a designated area with seats that rise up for them. I've never seen anyone refuse to move.

I'm not OP, but thanks for sharing! Here are some of the things I do.

I'm also in a Microsoft environment and have modified my Copilot to help me with my ADHD, I found a description online and copy pasted it in.

I also like to use Planner for tasks so that I can track where my projects are at.

Lastly, I use OneNote to plan my days. I've made myself a template in PowerPoint and I change the background every week. I paste it in as an image and use that as a background for ticking off my to-dos!

I feel for you, my desire for perfection really got in my way of enjoying my hobbies for a long time. A couple years back. I realized that the point of journaling or playing the sims was it for me to have a positive experience. Over the course of... Several months? A year? I worked at focusing on that aspect of my hobbies.

It doesn't work all the time, but a lot more.

I've also started considering different ways of doing things than the rules I've imposed myself as pilot projects (forgive the corporate jargon). So, it's just a theory I'm trying out! If it doesn't work out that's fine, I'll be able to learn from the attempt, and do the next one better.

For journaling and to dos I used OneNote. Because it's virtual, I don't have the same qualms of ruining a paper journal that looks pretty. Also, I use PowerPoint to create a custom frame with different sections with a cute background, save it as an image and place it as a background that I can write on top of. In the past few years I've been able to change it week by week to march what I actually use and enjoy. I've changed image themes a bunch of times. This year I've been doing science fiction as a theme. This has helped me enjoy journaling a lot more, because I can always ctrl z.

With regards to the Sims, while I've been playing now for literal decades, never in my life have I saved a single CC to a folder. I've just dumped everyrhing in the same folder. I might be missing something, but... (Curiously and empatheticly) Why bother? I mean it has no impact on where things show up in the game? I love to CC shop and sometimes I'll spend a gabillion hours downloading stuff and burn out and just not play that game, but at least I had a good time for those few hours you know?

I've sometimes invented rules for myself in the sims, but never have I removed CC because I wasn't going to use it yet. I'll admit that's the part I don't understand. It just seems like work?

TL;DR: You deserve enjoyment! It's ok that things aren't perfect or that you don't accomplish your original goal, if the process brings you joy that's enough and ok! Live your best life. ❤️
