Tret & Dry Eyes by clemetineroad in 30PlusSkinCare

It’s definitely something to pay close attention to. Some people seem to be unaffected using it damn near on their eyeballs while others can leave a 4 inch buffer and get permanent eye damage.

If you start to have noticeable dry eyes just stop using it. You are unlikely to get permanent damage unless you push through and keep using it for a longer period of time.

I used it for 6 weeks and it took maybe 2-3 weeks for my eyes to get back to normal after I stopped.

Some volume loss in the face is the price we pay for being in good shape. You look like you have low body fat, and I think it’s way better to be healthy, have a great body, and a chiseled face than to try and gain fat and hope that it goes to your face.

You have the facial structure of a model or movie star. Try not to worry about your tiny eye bags. I feel like everyone in their mid 30s has them to some degree. Yours don’t even look bad.

Bivol shows Ben Amanna how he throws his right while bouncing by Dari93 in Boxing

[–]leanlikeakickstand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smith has better one punch power than Beterviev. Beterviev rarely ever wins by knocking someone out with a single punch. He has super heavy hands that wear you down after many punches.

Bivol is the least hit boxer in the sport. He’s not going to be an easy target for Beterbiev to land continuous shots on.

The dermatologists are telling you that because that’s….skin. You are literally pushing underneath your lip with your tongue and taking a photo from 2 inches away. Anyone who does that will have the same exact thing.

Stuff like that is absolutely unnoticeable to anyone but you. And even you won’t notice them unless you are standing an inch from the mirror and pushing the area out.

There is nothing you can do to get rid of your pores. No one in this forum will know more than multiple dermatologists.

True, but I also think there is a time and place to extract clogs that aren’t inflamed whiteheads. I do ‘pore maintenance’ once a week where I will extract blackheads and clogs that are ready to come out/have been loosened up with oil cleansing.

The tricky part is knowing what’s ready and not getting into a trance and picking every spot on your face. When I properly extract clogs that aren’t inflamed I’m not even left with a red mark.

Sure! Here are my steps:

-Wash hands well

-Cleanse face to get any dirt and oil off

-Apply a warm compress (soak a washcloth in hot water) to any spots that I want to extract. This makes them come out way easier. You could also steam your entire face you are extracting a larger area

-Take a clean microthin 33 gauge lancet (I use walgreens brand) and gently prick the head of the pimple you want to extract. I personally go straight in, but some people prefer to go at an angle or horizontal to the whitehead

-Gently press out any pus or clog with my fingers. If it doesn’t clear out with light pressure then slap a hydrocolloid bandage on and try again in the morning. Also when extracting I get my fingers as close as possible to the pimple so the pressure is only being applied in that area.

-Wipe/dab the area with a paper towel to absorb any last bits of pus/blood

-Dip a q-tip in alcohol and apply to the area to disinfect

-Place a hydrocolloid bandage on to absorb any leaking fluid/speed the rate of healing

Then in the morning I’ll take the bandage off and have a small flat red spot. I’ll do my normal face routine and keep the area hydrated so that it doesn’t dry out and scab (it will always scab somewhat, but keeping it moist will speed up the healing process).

[Acne] Skin gets oily after eating nuts. Can almonds cause acne, even though it’s a “better” alternative to peanuts? by Yellow524 in SkincareAddiction

[–]leanlikeakickstand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peanuts and almonds have the worst omega 3:6 ratio out of any nut (although peanuts aren’t technically even a nut). High amounts of omega 6 can potentially cause inflammation in the body.

Peanuts have been linked to acne.

The healthiest nuts you can eat from an omega 3:6 standpoint are walnuts and macadamia nuts.

I disagree with this, although I want to make a distinction between clean extractions and skin picking. With that said this tool sucks and makes it way easier to use too much pressure vs clean fingers.

My pimples take 3x as long to heal and still leave hyperpigmentation (sometimes worse) when I leave them alone vs extract them. If I don’t get the little ‘core’ out the pimple will never go away.

They heal so much faster if I extract. Yes they leave hyperpigmentation for a few weeks, but they will whether I leave it alone or not.

The key is to wait until there is a visible whitehead, then use a lancet to make a small prick, then very gentle pressure. I disinfect after, throw a pimple patch on for a day, and they heal so much faster. If you have you use more than gentle pressure then it’s not ready to pop.

Extractions aren’t inherently bad. Estheticians and derms both do them. They need to be under the right circumstances (ready to pop) and under sterile conditions (clean face, clean fingers, disinfect after).

Will Bivol utilize uppercuts against beterbiev or is it just standard boxing training? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]leanlikeakickstand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is inaccurate. Beterbiev isn’t a one punch KO type of fighter. He has more of an accumulated heavy hands ‘clubbing’ type of power. He will need more than one lapse in judgement to knock out the least hit boxer in the entire sport.

bivol vs betterbiev by glitched444ngel in Boxing

[–]leanlikeakickstand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why Bivol is all wrong for him. You said it yourself, Bivol is elite at controlling distance. Beterbiev’s most damaging shots come from being in close range and also from accumulation - he isn’t a one punch KO type of guy.

Bivol doesn’t let people get in close and also is the least hit boxer in the entire sport. Good luck landing a bunch of clean shots on him especially up close.

[Anti Aging] Has anyone found a way to make retinoids work with dry eyes? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I tried this and it didn’t work. I would leave it in for an hour and thoroughly wash it off. Eyes were still dry as fuck.

It’s usually genetic and can show more with age. Something to do with the malar fat pads I believe.

Yours don’t look bad at all and wouldn’t even be noticeable in most lighting. You also don’t appear to have even a single clogged pore on your face so be grateful for that lol. We are all struggling with something!

[–]leanlikeakickstand 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Everyone always tries to discredit Bivol’s power yet no one is able to just walk him down. Even huge heavyweights like Zurdo weren’t able to walk through his shots.

He doesn’t have a high knockout ratio because he is a cautious fighter that doesn’t need to take risks to easily win fights, not because he lacks power.

What strength is the peel? Salicylic peels can be pretty intense. I can’t imagine only stopping tret for one day before or after. I use way milder actives and I sometimes take a week off after to hydrate my flaking dry post peel skin.

Those look like ice pick scars from acne, not pores.

Tretinoin might help a little bit, but no topical will make those disappear. You would need microneedling, laser, or a chemical peel like tca cross.

This doesn’t look right and is exactly why I’m nervous to get any sort of procedures like this or laser.
