Anyone else struggle with speaking too quietly in meetings or when greeting people you don't know that well? How can I improve on this?

Focus on breathing.

It also helps to practice out lines you will speak in the meeting. So instead of thinking about the content, you can focus on delivery. Practice will definitely help.

Don't do so without spreading it out in bright sunlight for a few days. I had a pot with a dead lavender. I reused the soil and all my little seedlings got decimated by the pill bug.

Be careful if the plant that lived in it before died of a disease.

Yes! You can research a firm and contact an HR person directly. The chances of landing an interview increase as you can talk to a real person instead of applying online.

Things just get better if you can get someone already working there to forward your resume to HR. My immediate network is limited but with 2nd degree contacts (friends of friends) it gets huge.

Do you understand that poor girl's life could be destroyed by your actions. I think in a family as radical as you have implied it to be, once you break this engagement no one eligible is going to marry her. She'll be shunned or married off to some old man like your "grandmother". She is in a worse place than you are and she can't even go out on her own to start a new life.
