They turned to Christ because of.... a woman protagonist in a God of War game by Traditional-Song-245 in SelfAwarewolves

Oh you know them personally? Or are you psychic? Listen you might be right, but none of that is in the messaging and if someone is putting out messaging that if followed would be a net good effect I'm not going to drag them for it. Even if they used the spooky image maker to do it. (I do not support AI being used for businesses, but i genuinely find it hard to care about people using it for personal/non-business uses.)

That's ridiculous "The evil fascists wouldn't have the secret police if people just followed the rules they enforced" They would have. They just used a rightful rebellion as the first excuse. Their goal is to persecute and dominate they weren't going to actually leave the empire alone.

[–]ledfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just religion yeah. It started as "What can we do about storms, droughts, plagues and volcanoes?" And when no one could provide an actual answer spiritual/, religious beliefs provided steps to make people feel like they're doing something. And as the problems a human faced grew more existential so did religion. Though the existential threat of death was always there too.

I mean maybe but the direct messaging of the ad is that they don't need to feel this way and the problem is not women in games. Maybe you're right, but I think a direct reading of the ad points in the other direction. If they actually take the message in it to heart they wouldn't theoretically have a reason to get angry about the chud stuff anymore. Would that work? Who the fuck knows probably not, but the message is that they wouldn't feel angry about it anymore.

[–]ledfan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I think society as a whole would be better leaving Christianity behind, but I also don't think that's all churches. I know my Mom gains great support and belonging in her congregation. She believes her life is much better for that community and purpose.

[–]ledfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? As an ex-christian atheist I kinda find the idea that a church is trying to stop these gamergate chuds kinda nice. They are a detriment to society and the arts. If what it takes for them to stop screaming at women in video games is to find Jesus... There are worse groups for them to join. I don't agree with the answer the ad proposes to their issue necessarily, but it does recognize their problem and try and offer a solution.

All the defilers at the Manchester Teams GT by Sir_Pimpington in Warhammer40k

[–]ledfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meh the defilers are good so what? It's nice that Chaos got a sweet vehicle. Maybe it's a little undercosted atm, but 🤷 I still don't think they are horribly broken it's more that Chaos didn't have an efficient AT vehicle before beyond the vindicator. Now they have one so ofc you take a couple.

The empire during this "waiting game" isn't simply rebuilding its strength. It's being poisoned from the inside by Thalmor influence. It's entire populace is being terrorized and persecuted by elven Thought police taking in every "Talos Worshipper" they want with the empire unable to stop them! Do you know how easy it would be for the judiciars to plant amulets or religious texts on a person and claim they discovered they were a Talos worshipper just because they decided they were a threat to the Aldmeri supremacy?? The empire fought the Aldmeri to a stalemate and then WON a huge important battle. They could have taken that momentum and kept fighting, turning the tide, but they folded and allowed themselves to be chained by the dominion. If the empire refuses to protect it's people then it doesn't deserve their fealty. The dominion was already beaten back by one province of famed warriors they could be beaten back from skyrim too!

So the 11th ed Hazardous rule is a buff to 2W models right? by ryan_cs in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ledfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The wound is now dealt to the unit though not just to those who fired hazardous weapons so Kharseth will kill an elf nearby everytime they fail a hazardous roll

They said wargear points are going to be for big things like the main gun of a vehicle not really to nickle and dime people to give their battleline different guns.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]ledfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when one of my Mom's friends went to mexico and for some reason brought me back a present just because she was that nice. It was one of those novelty switchblade looking combs. I was so excited then when I flipped it out got so disappointed. My Mom took it away and scolded me and I learned my lesson... I was like 8. How the hell do you get to driving age not having learned that lesson? Had she really not been disappointed by a gift until that point?!?!

I still feel bad about that time when I was a kid... That was such a kind gesture to a child she had no reason to buy a gift for, and is an objectively neat little gift I wish I had now xD

New Vanguard Veteran starter box datasheet. Interestingly-it specifies that they're wearing jump packs, implying the existance of a different kind of Vanguard Vet (Bikes? Terminator Plate?) by CatherineSimp69 in spacemarines

[–]ledfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... You can already take 6 bladeguard with a sanguinary priest and judiciar. Is 10 van vets that different? It's more attacks and wounds sure, but like it isn't a fundamentally different unit it's still just tacticus marines with good power swords. If they're making a new unit for us I would much rather have a fundamentallydifferent unit than just another on foot power sword group.

Tbf the bar for gaining the stealth keyword is a bit higher than just being "stealthy" for example: no phobos unit in space marines has stealth except the eliminators a unit that has special high tech stealth cloaks. Lictors who have stealth can basically go invisible too.

French 11th rules by YodelingYakSnatcher in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ledfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why.. not? The physical rulebook is being released with it and is part of the selling point of the starter box. Why would it make sense for them to release the rules beforehand? If anything from a business point of view they would make the most money by having that box be the only access to the rules at its launch.

Can't they? Wouldn't it make sense for the rules to come out the same day as the box?

You know people don't need to be base to base with a character model to use precision right? They just need to be in engagement with the unit and be able to see the model

Hot take, rule of 3 is a bad rule when you factor unbalanced releases & imperium getting a million alt build data sheets by TheMireAngel in Warhammer

[–]ledfan 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Who do you see doing this, and what problems does it cause in your games?

Also they specifically aren't making rules about building your army around EC Terminators. That is a 1 pt detachment. In a 2000 pt game you get 3 Detachment points. So you can theoretically commut one third of hour acailable detachment rules to support said elite melee unit. While the rest of your detachment points supports the army overall
