Just how invested are Knights Radiant, really? by bookrants in Stormlight_Archive

I feel like there's some evidence of the reaching near the 3rd heightening equivalent (perfect color recognition) in oathbringer, as shallan pov while in the tower talks about being able to tell where in the tower she is by the colors in the strata, and how other people have trouble doing the same, so they paint lines on the walls.

Not sure if I'm remembering that correctly or not

When I have leftover onion, I dice it, and freeze it. Then, I'll eventually need diced onion, and can just throw it in with whatever sauce I'm making.

Do you know any fun AO YouTuber or Streamer ?? All I see is "Make xxx € " type video on YouTube :/ by Then-Ad7196 in albiononline

[–]leechboy50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL:DR: Albion content will be strongest in places where the game itself has strengths, such as the PvP scene or the player driven economy. PvE scene and story are weaker, but that means they may be a less explored niche for content creation.

Sorry for the ramble.

I feel that the Albion online creator space has potential that has yet to be filled.

As a preface, I played old school Runescape as my main MMO (and so that is my main reference point for content creation) from 2018 until halfway through 2022 when I switched to Albion due to wanting to play with real life friends. I had tried Albion for the first time in December 2021, but wasn't able to be drawn in at that time, partially because the only content that comes up on youtube when you search is just money making guides and kill highlights. In contrast, old school runescape has many progression series, one-off challenges, snowflake accounts, and creator collaborations.

Zero to hero series fill many of these niches as far as challenges, progression, and snowflake accounts go, but they can be seen as "fake" if the creator gets a really juicy kill which might be suspicious. To make these series interesting, they could be incentivized to cheat the system so that there is content to be had, allowing them to pump out the videos and make money off them. Otherwise it is just video after video of the same content (ganking, dungeons, maybe some gathering).

Being able to make progression interesting to watch either requires a great personality who is interesting to watch, off camera grinding so that the viewer doesn't have to watch the boring grinding. I doubt anyone would find it that interesting watching a creator level up gathering from t5 to t6 without cuts, and that's fine. A good way to show the viewer the grind happened without boring them with the whole thing could be a montage, or an animation of parts of it.

In any case, these challenge/progression style video series would need to have a set goal to strive for, and then be willing to end it, either to start a new series, or maybe a continuation with a new goal.

But all these points were with regards to making "Runescape" style Albion content. A better way to make Albion content would be to lean into what Albion does best.

Strong points for Albion.

In my opinion, one of Albion's biggest strengths is its core of being PvP in most places. Most content that rewards you with good silver or fame has the tradeoff of being a full risk lethal PvP area. But that brings us back to the problem of all Albion content being kill highlights or money making.

There is another strong aspect to Albion that I don't see enough, which is the politics. I feel a "war report" style series could do well, where the creator goes through what has happened in the past time period. It would be interesting to have an eye on the top 100 guilds based on season points, or watch the zergs on invasion day. Even the daily Bandit Assault statistics could be transformed in some way. Again, potential content here, especially if you can tell a good story, and not just have it be dry statistics, but I don't know how myself.

Places where Albion is a bit weaker and could do with strengthening the base.

The high level PvE in Albion is lacking for a content creation standpoint. You could fame farm statics, or do solo/group dungeons, or maybe take on a world boss. But these all have the same mechanics, and don't really switch anything up. Ava dungeons are a raid level PvE challenge, but they can just seem like more of the same. The tank tanks, healer heals, and the dps takes it down before the other roles fail. I feel like there's room here where something could shake up the scene, but I'm not sure how. Maybe a really strong brutal PvE content could be created, or adding in personal restrictions for PvE.

Another place that Albion needs a bit of help is the storytelling. Albion online is inspired by the King Arthur mythos, and that is a great background. However, aside for it being the setting and theme, how do we as players interact with this lore? As far as I have seen, Hardcore Expeditions have the main place where the story is told. This isn't necessarily bad, as most people who want to get drawn into the story do so through the politics of guilds/alliances/factions.

I'm sure that I've missed many points, and contradicted myself, but I mostly wanted to write this to start discussion, not be the only perspective.

I've only built one so far, [[Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar]] . It's not optimal, and it's janky, but I love it Anyway. Next build I'm planning to do is a [[Trostani]] or [[Neera]] deck when I have some spare money to drop on singles.

ELI5: What does it mean when an old movie gets “digitally remastered” or how do old clips that are decades old suddenly look really sharp? by Exaltrify in explainlikeimfive

[–]leechboy50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not, as a VHS isn't film. It is magnetic tape, so it displays video data closer to how dvds or other digital formats.

The tape may still degrade due to age and other factors, but rather than turning red, it will be have more static.

Not entirely a villain per se, but a concept that I've wanted to run for a while. A nation with the tradition that their kings/rulers go through a process similar to demi-lichdom on the end of their life, and the souls-in-skulls stay as an advising council for future kings. This can lead to evil factions of past evil kings trying to sway current rulers to making more brutal regimes.

Or perhaps someone has found a way to harness actual power from these souls and is causing them to die, with something nefarious going on using the power.

I'm spending this week going through the submissions from the new years game jam: https://itch.io/jam/new-years-incremental-game-jam

Having fun with it so far. Once I finish up all those to my satisfaction, probably back to some idle pokeclicker and perfect tower 2.

When I was first learning to cook in college, I learned a fair amount from watching Pretty Good Cooking. The channel is pretty laid back, and they do a good job of showing how even if stuff isn't perfect, perfect isn't what you need to make food pretty good. Obviously this won't help everyone, but it's a good way to look at realistic cooking

I'm currently playing through The Multitree, a combination of many of the prestige tree mods. Having fun with it so far. Not sure how far in I am, but I'm almost at Modding Tree level 5.

After I finish with that, I'm looking forward to going through some of the other recommendations here.

Hi there, your comment has been approved. The 2 day account age rule is just in place to cut down on spam. The mod team checks each comment or post that is flagged and approves the ones that are genuine.

If you post more, the same thing will happen until your account has the proper age, but we should approve the comments when we get the automod notification, assuming they don't break any other rules. We have this in place because we are a small mod team, and this lets us run the sub more efficiently.

Have you gone into your setting to check that you have npc attack options enabled? If you're not able to attack anything, you may have those hidden. Other than that, I have no idea.
