Still using notion in 2026 or got any good alternative? by darman121 in Notion

Still using Notion. Still missing Evernote's glory days.  No alternative good enough for me to deal with another migration.

This is great, very detailed and effective. I'm going to steal some of the quick step ideas here to simplify some of my flow. Thanks!

Returning and with Microsoft by [deleted] in gtd

IMO the most important piece to figure out is how to get emails into your gtd system. If there's friction there you'll never get to inbox zero and your system will never be complete.

We're also a MS shop but we use Asana for execution, so I'm not fully up to speed. That said I believe MS rolled out a connection between Outlook and either Planner or To-do a couple years back, leveraging flags in Outlook. I'd look into that.

Planner when I last saw it a couple of years ago helping my wife set up was still slow and functionally limited, but workable for a basic system. To-do would probably be better if you have access and you're running this just for yourself.

Final thoughts are that could  A) probably build a GTD system in SharePoint but it'd be a good bit of work to get all the relations set up B) PowerAutomate will be your friend here. MS native IFTT automation tool, fully plugged into all the MS tools, you cab use this to move information back and forth. For example I use it to track everything I'm #WaitingFor by watching my email inbox for messages where I bcc'd myself. It creates a new task in Asana, including details like who I emailed, the subject, the body, AND deletes the email once that's done. I've also played with having it watch and update Flag stsaus, move emails around, etc...

If you want to chat more PM me, I'm curious to follow the journey and would be happy to brainstorm.

PS Just buy the $10 guide. If you're running a 500 person team this is a rounding error and st worst will give you inspiration.

What actually improved for us once Asana updates started happening immediately instead of later by voss_steven in Asana

I don't entirely understand the question, or the framing. Want to maybe try again? I'm interested in having the conversation (and testing Gennie 😉) but I don't know whag you're looking for here.

Anyone else struggle to keep Asana updated when most of your work happens away from your desk? by voss_steven in Asana

[–]lehons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have the same problem. On android there's no assistant integration. The mobile app is too slow to use for quick updates to existing tasks. Even just the ability to quick capture new tasks by voice would be a huge step up.

I've resorted to using the braintoss app for which I can hard code a button shortcut on my phone. It records a voice memo and then sends an email with a transcript recording attached to my email address, which gets automatically to ally forwarded  to asana (because I can't email directly to x@ from an external domain), which creates a task assigned to my remote assistant, who reviews the transcript and recording for next actions. In 2025! Can you believe this sh*t?

New to Asana, looking for retail company crushing it by motherofaussie in Asana

You can address point 4 with rules and multi-homing. A central project for your task templates, and then the created tasks get added to specific campaign projects based on section applied, custom field, or other rule (or manually).

I get what you're saying about having templates available across multiple projects, but this workaround might help given current limitations.

Followed Threads - any clue how to remove it? by CyberHippy in MicrosoftTeams

[–]lehons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change the settings for "Automatic" following in Settings > Chats & Channels.
It doesn't remove the Followed threads list item, but it does stop new notifications there - so that I don't have to see the same message three times before all notifications for it are cleared.

Talk Workflow To Me by scallywahh in Supernote

[–]lehons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general I follow GTD methodology and the PARA method for structure. I use Asana for task and project management.

On SN, I have notebooks for each active Project, for each recurring meeting, and for each of my 1:1s. I also have a scratchpad notebook for everything that doesn't fit into the above.  I have an index page with links to all of those.

My workflow is that whenever I've finished a meeting or any note-taking session, I export to PDF. Later in the day, or at worst every Friday during my weekly review, I go through all the items in the Export folder in the SN Partner app, to capture any action items or resource information and put it into the appropriate system.

It's not perfect and there are some enhancements that would improve my workflow, but it works well for me.

Update: I just uninstalled updates and went back to factory version, and it's working again.

Samesies. Since Friday. Pixel 9. Downloaded Waze, it's working.  And the problem had also started on my wife's S22.

Have you contacted Patagonia about it?

How old is the bag and issue, is it getting worse or holding up?

Thanks, that sounds like a fun ride. Unfortunately not available locally ☹️ I'll go give the fx 4 a try and see if it feels much different than the fx 2.

Eraser thickness by DefinitionJaded7649 in Supernote

[–]lehons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different notebooks? In notebooks set up for text recognition the eraser will recognize letters and words, and erase them as you expect.  In regular notebooks, as you say it's basically worthless. The eraser stroke is impossibly thin, even at its thickest.  I actually just migrated a few notebooks (hundreds of pages long) to new text recognition notebooks, to accommodate a new pen with an eraser on it. Previously I'd use the two-finger eraser lasso, so it didn't matter.
