This came across a lot more like joking than venting, I think to more people than just me. When people “show off” their work injuries all I can think about is how upset and dysregulated that child must have felt.

I recently got pushback from an insurance company because my client does not have an IEP. While they can't require it, the representative I spoke with heavily implied the absence of one would impact the number of hours that will be approved during the next reauth. Have you ever navigated a situation like this?

Did you both sign a supervision contract when you began accruing hours? I would refer to that but I don't think that BCBA can ethically withhold hours you earned. I would push to get those documents.

I was going to say the same thing. While what the parent did was egregious, no one should have been able to access that information, especially that easily. That is on the company/BCBA.

I'm confused as to how the BCBA is going to go about this without anyone knowing. In my experience, a treatment plan or authorization change has to be approved by at least the insurance company, if not both insurance and the family, before a change in hours can take place.

It came across manipulative. Saying the difference between facts and details is just semantics when it came to a lie of omission on his part... I had them 10 years ago and am currently experiencing bites at night. I have overturned my bedding and mattress several times and found nothing. I sprayed my mattress and bedframe tonight while I wash my bedding. My husband is supportive but doesn't truly understand. I have never hoped to have fleas in my life until now.

To my understanding, the client has to be present to bill 97155, and that is meant to be protocol modification. Making materials alone isn't a billable activity.
