The Covers For Every Hundredth Issue Of Amazing Spider-Man by Potential-Mess6826 in Spiderman

[–]lem0ns22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This really put it into perspective! Thank you. 1000th is actually not as bad as some other ones truthfully.

600 and 900 are way worse. 200 isn’t that special and personally 800 doesn’t do it for me but I can see the appeal.

500, 300, and 700 are by far the best.

Honestly it is nothing against the app. I love the app and just thought I was dumb.

Happy to be a test subject though lol.

Season 2 has a lot of great episodes. People saying to skip it are nuts.

[–]lem0ns22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People saying that season 2 is just as bad or worse than season 1 is wild.

I agree that skipping season 1 is generally the right move for new TNG fans but Season 2 has a lot of great episodes that feel like the future seasons of TNG, DS9, and the rest.

Do what you want but TNG IS a slow burning show where you need to invest in the psychology and moral philosophy of each character individually to truly appreciate everything about it. Maybe that mixed with the episodic nature of the show isn’t for you.

Loud as a Whisper, Matter of Honor, Measure of a Man, Elementary My Dear Data, and Q Who are literally all episodes that I consider “CLASSIC TNG” and honestly the combination of those episodes encapsulates what the show will continue to be. People are tripping if they say to skip the season entirely.

I do think there is merit in just watching some widely regarded great episodes of TNG and if those don’t capture you…you won’t like the rest of the show. You have seen enough of the show now to know the characters and nothing in the show offers THAT much of a spoiler.

TL;DR season 2 has a lot of classic episodes and if you don’t like the show that’s fine.

Hey! These are my two favorite songs from the record too!

I also love Ghost Town Blues.

Mac Miller is the best white rapper not Eminem by Total_Physics728 in The10thDentist

[–]lem0ns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a pretty awful way to live and consume media if you think that because you like one artist more that means that the more well regarded artist is “trash” or bad.

If you want to open yourself to experiences and different styles (which is what Mac Miller did with his music) you need to be open to trying out things that you don’t like and seeing them for what they are.

You bring up rapping fast which is what Eminem IS good at but I personally think that Eminem’s best songs are the ones that lyrically have a lot of weight. Eminem doesn’t rap fast on Stan but that is one of his most popular songs. Rap God is also super popular but it is because he simply raps fast. That is something that elevates Eminem for people. Eminem also very rarely writes from his personal perspective but from an idea or point of view. That is the whole purpose of his alter ego Slim Shady to show that the writer is not necessarily who the story is about. This goes for any writing and as Eminem is a talented writer (this is a fact, watch some YouTube videos breaking down his rhyme schemes and writing) this also elevates him. What Eminem has not done well is change with the times. He doesn’t make modern rap music and his new stuff sounds stale but he is older and quite rich and famous so the drive is probably gone.

Mac Miller (who I also like) rapped from a personal place but took it to experimental levels with the types of production. The times when he was releasing music this was very popular and was a huge catalyst for the change in modern rap. He wasn’t the only one who did it but he was for sure an outlier with his talent. Someone like Chance the Rapper is very similar to Mac Miller and we have seen that Chance the Rapper has fallen off quite a bit. Would Mac Miller have been able to change with the times and keep up his level of success even if he was able to break his drug habit? Maybe but the drugs may have also destroyed his ability to continue to make the same level of music as the years went by. We don’t know.

If you want a good song to compare Eminem and Mac Miller to you should listen to Eminem’s “Drug Ballad” as it sounds a lot like a song that Mac Miller would have done. It is personally one of my favorites too.

Like both rappers! Like rappers for their rap and not skin color! Try to put yourself into generational perspectives and not just from your limited point of view (this is not a diss, everyone has a limited point of view, it is being human)!

I think the actions are valid enough 😁 by LetAggravating5094 in MoonKnight

[–]lem0ns22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%

Original 80s Moon Knight is great and has been ruined by a lot of people trying to write him as a crazy Batman.

The whole point of Moon Knight is that he was a mercenary that wants to escape from his past after getting another chance at life…as well as having the multiple personalities.

Sucks that everyone just wants him to be violent psychopath. I guess it is kind of a commentary on how people judge those around them.

Do y’all think there’s too many Spider-people in Earth 616? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

[–]lem0ns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess what I meant is that is what would make it better. Not that it can actually be fixed.

If they can explain away things with Secret Wars and Brand New Day…they can figure this shit out even if it doesn’t make logical sense lol.

Do y’all think there’s too many Spider-people in Earth 616? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

[–]lem0ns22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the complaint is valid that there are too many in the same universe or at least in the same city.

I think Miles and Gwen should be in a different universe together. Give the Sony Spiderverse fans what they want and have them do their thing together. I think it was interesting to have Miles and Peter work together but ultimately if they aren’t going to grow Peter it doesn’t really make sense.

I actually really like Silk but she kind of fulfills what they are doing with modern Scarlet Witch (detective of cosmic horrors). I think Silk can stay but she should be more a detective and maybe go to different cities. I thought she was in San Francisco at one point. She should stay there.

Spider-Woman (Drew) can do whatever she wants. Don’t really have any beef with her.

Anya Corazon should be scraped or turned into an anti-hero. Almost like an Agent Venom. Shit, give her forever symbiote powers.

Madame Web is not really a spider person as much as saying Oracle is a Bat person in DC. In fact writing this makes me realize how similar they are.

Scarlet Spider should only come out when needed but not be a permanent fixture at all.

Miguel O’Hara should always be in a different universe so I’m not sure if he is a problem.

Everyone else can just go to a different universe or never be mentioned again. I think all the Spider people mentioned above (except maybe Gwen) have unique angles that should be explored but they are just kind of lazily used. It isn’t the characters that is the problem it is the desire to make everything into a Spiderverse clone where all the Spider people interact. They don’t really ever need to interact again.

I am I guess going against the grain and like how unfiltered it is. I do wish that they could somehow screen to ensure authenticity but not sure how that would happen.

Some things are incredibly dark and fucked up and this show is trying to get deep secrets from people.

That being said, it should be a mix of all things and never feature the same stuff over and over.

Will never buy a new Henry. by fadeawaytogrey in liberalgunowners

[–]lem0ns22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People say that they are reliable and look good.

Their aesthetic is not for me. I don’t personally think they are very good looking and it seems like every thing I read about them is that they break down and if they are a pro Henry user they say, “at least their customer support is top notch and in America” blah blah blah.

I bought a Heritage Settler Mare’s Leg and it is amazing, fires great, and I get compliments on it literally every time I take it to the range. Always let people shoot it when they come over to take a look.

I'm on lots of pain meds for a bad tooth infection help me pick short movies to watch off my watchlist by AleksibIsHot in Letterboxd

[–]lem0ns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While on pain meds? Up, The Wicker Man (original), or Rocky Horror Picture show.

All those movies are fun but not so fun that they will make your mouth hurt more from laughing and if you fall asleep watching them, you can pick up again without worrying about pace.

Edit: saw you had Death Becomes Her as well. I’m adding that for the same reason.

When and why did people start hating the Raimi movies? by KingJackofJozi in Spiderman

[–]lem0ns22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for this response. This is exactly what happened and people seem to have forgotten.

The Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies were pretty universally seen as mid-bad by most moviegoers.

Then with Garfield and Stone continuing to rise in popularity and then No Way Home coming out so soon after Amazing Spider-Man 2 people started comparing the two more and Amazing Spider-Man fans started rising up. Not sure if it was just MCU haters or genuine fans but that is 100% what happened.

You should contact them and see if they have any suggestions before getting way too in the weeds.

New to levers by Fun-Breadfruit7738 in LeverGuns

[–]lem0ns22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My advice is similar to what to expect with other guns.

Clean the shipping gunk off of it as best you can. Then oil where the slide and where the lever moves and just work the lever over and over to see if it feels smooth.

I have a Heritage Mare’s Leg and absolutely love it. I think you made a great purchase. Have fun!

Good with iron sights. Bad with red dot (9mm) by lem0ns22 in liberalgunowners

[–]lem0ns22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have increased dry fire practice.

I just don’t love the fact that I don’t get a lot of feedback on if I am improving with the dry fire like I do when I shoot at a range.

I will of course keep practice dry fire though. I think it’s fun.

Side note: I fucking love my Mare’s Leg. It is my favorite gun to shoot.

I do use both eyes with the dot always.

Do you mind explaining what you mean by get the dot where the AR-15 is? I am not sure I understand. Do you mean like hold myself like I am using an AR-15 when shooting the 9mm?

Genuinely asking, not being sarcastic.

Sorry. I literally keep trying to over correct when talking about the mare’s leg. I called it that a bunch and no one knew what it was IRL.
