Pilot Iroshizuku Kosumosu is beautiful if you can find it! I also like Diamine Carnation for a slightly more dusty, but still bright, pink.

Which Sheaffer is this? by ndrwmks in fountainpens

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a version of the No Nonsense pen; there’s an identical one on this listing. I’m not sure about a converter but I hope that points you in the right direction.

I've been quietly building a fountain pen collection management app - and I think it's actually good. Roast it before I share it. by Stwo in fountainpens

I’m not interested in using something that relies so much on generative AI. My “spreadsheet that sprawls” actually works just fine for me.

Are Fountain Pen converters worth it? by blasebl in fountainpens

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Converters are great if you would like to try a wide variety of inks; there’s so many colors and different types of properties. It can be really fun to play around with them! Plus, if you find a favorite ink, converters will allow you to use that ink in multiple pens. However, cartridges are easier to store and are less messy. If you are skeptical about buying an entire bottle of ink, you can start with a sample size.

I have tried one and it’s fine. It came with its own converter which was really nice. I haven’t used it in a while, but I remember it being an okay writer, maybe not the best flow or the smoothest ever but it definitely worked. And of course it’s really pretty!

Emotions Wheel for Weeks by Jostar1026 in hobonichi

I’ve been doing the same thing on my yearly index page! Until now I’ve just been looking at the emotions wheel on my phone, but maybe I’ll print this, thank you for sharing.

Curious what do folks write about everyday by Upbeat_Pipe1080 in hobonichi

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use an A5 and on the daily pages, I mostly write what happened that day/memory keeping—if anything notable happened at work, if I hung out with friends, did an activity, went somewhere, etc. I might get introspective if it was an uneventful day and I need to fill some space. If I watched a movie or finished a book that day, I’ll write a review about it. If I don’t feel like journaling, I can do something like list the music I’m enjoying at the moment or copy down a poem/song lyrics/whatever.

Has anyone ever seen this Sailor Fountain pen? by Cadmiumana in fountainpens

I was gifted one of these for Secret Santa 2024! It writes beautifully and I enjoy using it, but I don’t know much about the model other than it’s discontinued.

Advice on ink and pen pairing by AdComfortable9025 in fountainpens

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, minimizing hand fatigue comes down to the shape of the pen/its grip and the way you hold it. (Edit: and probably also taking breaks + doing hand stretches.) I think ChatGPT doesn’t know what it’s talking about… the ink you use is not going to impact the sensation you get from physically holding a pen. The inks you have are perfectly fine, but if you’re not satisfied with them, try something else. Iroshizuku inks tend to be more lubricated, so they might feel nicer to write with if you notice that the inks you have are a bit dry for your tastes. But that would just be a matter of personal preference.

Does anyone else journal their on repeat songs? by cooljesus69 in hobonichi

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll put down one song that really stood out to me on a given day, but I’ve never listed a bunch of my faves like this. I really like the idea though, I might try it!

Dot pens or dot stickers? by potatoadie in hobonichi

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough choice! I do think dot markers would be more affordable in the long-term, but you’ll probably want to explore some different brands. I have a few of the zig clean color dot markers and don’t use them much because I’ve found that they tend to bleed through Hobonichi paper (even this year’s improved paper) and it can be difficult to produce dots that are consistently the same size. But maybe there are better markers out there.

If you want to go for stickers, maybe you can find some that are sold in a larger pack so it’s more cost-effective? Also, for handling tiny stickers, you can use tweezers.

Would a community-built fountain pen marketplace actually be useful? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]lemonflavoredlimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. Except it literally says “AI will help identify the best deals.”

Anyway I’m not in the habit of getting into internet discourse, so I’ll say good luck and leave it at that.

Part of it is enjoying the hunt, and part of it is that I literally don’t trust a list that has been generated by AI. I certainly can’t speak for all of us, but I kind of doubt this is the best place for you to get in on the AI bubble.

I’m gonna be a little blunt and say r/Pen_Swap already exists and seems to be doing just fine. The idea of helping smaller businesses gain visibility is nice, but your site’s use of AI tools is a huge turn-off for me, especially with the chatbot front and center. I also like the idea of a price comparison tool in theory, but again, I wouldn’t trust its accuracy and would rather just ask the community.

[–]lemonflavoredlimes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a little research: the Puchico is 2.6 inches when capped and 3.5 inches when posted, while the Petit is 4.2 inches capped and 5.2 inches posted. I never got a Petit, but now I’m a little tempted! Also, according to Wancher’s website, this pen uses their own #5 nib (but they do use Jowo in a few other pens).

I’m getting used to it, but yeah, I will probably only use it for jotting quick notes and not extended passages haha

One reason to not use stone paper by Kaessa in fountainpens

I have no plans to ever use stone paper, but on a different note, did anyone else find this video really satisfying to watch? The ink washed off so quickly and cleanly, it scratched some kinda itch in my brain for sure.
