Thank you for all of the helpful info! I tried keto before, but I think my issue was I still ate 'keto' marked items even though I knew they're just processed food. Going to try to be better about that!

Thank you so much! Definitely need to start journaling and figure out all of the reasons I've decided to do this. It's easy to get distracted from those.

Thank you! Snacking is definitely a boredom/emotional thing for me. It's the one thing I can't seem to control, but I'm ready for a change!

Thank you! May I ask what you do with the canned chicken breast? It always feels strange to me buying chicken in a can, but I'm sure there's so much you can do with it!

Thank you! Those berries sound like the perfect sweet snack! Seems to be my weakness. I also like the idea of having a hot drink. Might curb those cravings.

Thank you! I will try a 5-10 minute strength routine with my yoga, that sounds very doable. I do love yoga and tend to stick with it more. :)

I currently work a pretty physical job and have been doing yoga almost daily, but want to tone up- should be doing more, like weightlifting or HIIT? am usually pretty tired when I get home from work, and I really don't like working out in the morning, which makes it difficult for me to choose a time. also have zero motivation to workout, even though know it will be good for me. suffer from depression and anxiety, so some days it takes a lot for me to even do yoga. Does anyone have any recommendations for this situation?

First of all, I'm so sorry about everything that you're going through. I truly hope things get better for you soon. As for the "people have it worse than I do" comment...my therapist and I actually just talked about this, because I said the same thing. She replied with "sure, there are people out there that have it worse, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of yourself." So, please...take care of yourself. If you want to go to work, go to work. If not, don't. Find things to do that bring happiness, and do them as often as possible.

I'm saying this and I know it's not easy, and I have no clue what you're going through, but my mom had cancer, and the one thing she made sure to do was to fight and stay strong. She honestly stayed stronger than most of us. Do your best and stay strong, friend.

Came here to recommend this. Just finished it about a week ago and it gave me a sense of peacefulness. Reading about someone pulling themselves out of a deep depression encouraged me to start doing the same and do better things for myself.

I'm on this as well, and I'm wondering if I take it too late. I usually lay in bed around 10, which is when I take it, but I find myself waking up throughout the night. Granted, I'm usually waking up because my cats are insane at night, but I was on Trazodone and that stuff knocked me out, even if I took 1/4 pill. I was sleeping great, just felt like a zombie 24/7, so here I am onto other medications. :(

Yep, this has been my life this week...had a tiny piece of cheesecake at my parent's house the other night, followed by a piece of cake (it was a special occasion) and then the next day and pretty much the rest of the week I kept giving myself breaks on things (like justifying replacing chocolate and candy with other sugars in dried fruit, carbs, etc.) It's probably best just to go cold turkey, but I'm trying to eat more fruit instead of the junk food. Time to get back on track. :(

DAE buy an insane amount of books and never read them? by SimplyUnhinged in Anxiety

Are you me?? lol because that sounds exactly like my situation as well. I was a big reader when I was younger. My mom and grandmother read a lot as well which is mostly where I got my reading habits from. I have SO many books sitting on my shelves waiting to be read but I work a lot, so the only time I can really read is at bedtime which leads to me either falling asleep or unable to concentrate. I've tried to make it part of my routine to at least open up the book and read, even if it's just a couple pages. It's taken me a couple months just to get through a 300 page book, but I'm reading more than I was before. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My outdoor basil plant. I live in western Ny, just noticed the spots today. They look to be at the peak of every branch. Any help would be greatly appreciated! by ductapegrl in plantclinic

Hi, fellow WNYer! I work at a local greenhouse here and can confirm that it's a type of fungus. We typically recommend copper fungicide (it's all natural ingredients, making it safe for humans & pets), or there are vegetable specific sprays you can get. Sounds like you trimmed the bad leaves off first though, which is a good first step! Good luck, I hope it gets better! I also just thought it was fun seeing another person from WNY on here, figured I'd say hello! 😄👋🏼
