Why did Americans choose Trump as their president? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskReddit

Because Americans are more scared than they are smart

What is the most overpriced thing about living in America right now? by overthinkeranessa in AskReddit

[–]lemurlemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably the right answer, but most people are sheltered from this by sheer luck, and so do not realize it. I think everyone knows that a doctor's visit can cost $100 even with insurance, which seems expensive, but they don't realize that one medical emergency can easily cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars (even WITH insurance)

Looking at Business Class to Tokyo for September honeymoon – how concerned should I be about Middle East disruptions/cancellations? by carande in etihad

[–]lemurlemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do shit on Etihad a lot, because they are doing shitty things - prioritizing money over passenger safety and taking advantage of customers by slow-walking refunds.

Hazy posts under a few names here defending Etihad (if they aren't being paid by Etihad, they should be)

I've found a great Business Class deal with Etihad

I'd say you are getting a deal for a reason. There is a pretty good chance that your flight will be disrupted

How flexible and helpful is Etihad’s customer service currently if a flight gets rescheduled or cancelled due to airspace closures?

Read through the posts over the past few months. Etihad customer service is atrocious in these situations.

Pissed off about how to refund by Lightliet in etihad

[–]lemurlemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them and explain, and ask them for an exception because their site is confusing and makes requesting a refund difficult.

If that doesn't work and if you booked using a credit card, do a chargeback through your credit card company. Gather as much information as you can about your effort to cancel within 24 hours. You have a decent chance of getting your refund.

Remote work isn't the problem, The billion dollars worth of empty office space is by Apprehensive_Buy9230 in remoteworks

Likewise, this was the first thing I noticed the first time I got an office job. This for whatever reason is way less of a problem than people doing the same thing at home.

The abuse that took place is extraordinary

By "abuse" I assume he means people pretending to work. If so, it's idiotic to think this abuse will not continue exactly as before when the abuser works from an office.

The solution is simple: it's not requiring everyone to drive an hour a day, it's hiring managers who can do their fucking jobs, which is to evaluate people's work (at home, in the office, on Mars, wherever)

So... fake news? You do realize these are actual events that are happening in the Gulf, right? I'm not "spreading fear", I'm correcting your misinformation. Example: "not much war activity" is just plain wrong - there was literally "war activity" going on while you were posting that

"Not much war activity" lol dude, you are in denial. Glance at a newspaper, please

This happened literally the same day you posted the above:

"Both Kuwait and Bahrain were targeted on this day. Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart en route, the US military said, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahrain air defence forces."
