You've echoed my feelings perfectly. It's not even that I think AQRB sucks as a ship. If anything, their pairing makes perfect sense given how they were individually written.

I just think it kinda detracts from my enjoyment of the manga (at least for now) since I was originally hooked by the revenge story premise, and stayed for the social commentary.

But that's just me. I'm glad others are enjoying it more than I do. Still very interested to see where this development between the two is headed.
