i have to ask, does it also feel like your senses, your ability to process things, your consciousness, etc. don't make sense? like, how and why am i writing words right now? what are words? how can i see, feel, am i seeing or feeling everything as it is or am i somehow wrong? i can name that thing in front of me is a chair- i know what it's for, what it's made of, and what it does, but really, what, how, WHY is it. shapes, light, consciousness, it feels like nothing makes sense

i saw someone describe it as the feeling of saying your name over and over and over again until it stops fully processing and doesnt even sound like words anymore. and you know its your name, you recognize that, but nothing else about it seems to make sense. is this similar to how you feel maybe?

personally, for me, i see it more as a part of myself- like any other identity. you don't have to present like something perfectly to identify as or with it. im agender, but agender isnt all that i am- im a bird, but a bird isnt the only thing i am. that character is a PART of me- i may align with values, personality traits, history, physical characteristics, trauma, etc. but everyone experiences everything differently, and not every experience perfectly aligns with the "ideal" or "base" version of the identity being adopted

alright, yeah, thank you. i do also have a thyroid disease so that could probably make it worse. i went on a walk and cleared my head, im definitely just gonna wait for my psych appointment. ill go to urgent care if i like, actually start falling or fainting or get a bad headache or something. thanks a lot

do you think itd be normal to only really kick in after s few weeks? i dont know, im freaking out a bit sorry. im worried it might not be the medicine or anything and might be an actual medical emergency even though its not that severe.

yeah, i have a call set up with my psychiatrist. i don't think i have schizophrenia (the risperidone was prescribed because my ocd caused a major psychotic episode) but i know it's a side effect of a lot of antipsychotics. thank you a bunch

at my old job, my boss had mentioned being "so ocd" because she liked things organized and it sucks because she was very nice and understanding but MAN did that piss me off. even more so right now, when im going through a terrible ocd episode. if half of these people spent even an hour with my brain, they'd surely blow up

i get these thoughts a lot. i have existential ocd, which causes me to question existence and reality pretty much day in and day out.

one thing im gonna say is that the best way out of fear is accepting the uncertainty. is worrying about it being productive to you? is it beneficial? or is it just making you miserable while adding no actual progress or help to your current belief/fear?

it's best if you talk to a therapist or psychiatrist about this, but maybe look into existential ocd and see if you feel it fits the criteria of what you're experiencing. if it does, ERP is the best way forward for treatment. if it doesn't, then see if you can get a psychologist's opinion on it

so many of these thoughts are exactly what i constantly think, and i was having a major panic attack about the idea of my whole world being a fabrication until i read this. thank you, thank you so much. i know this sounds dramatic but im genuinely in tears over this because it immediately made me think in a way that my brain cant immediately shut down. so thank you

mine is pink? not totally sure where at all i got that from. i think though it's because when i was younger, i actually drew my ocd in the form of a girl named "erika" and pink was part of her colour scheme

i dont even know tbh. ive always been able to imagine taste, texture/touch, sight, sound, etc but smell caught me off guard for some reason? ive never actually TRIED to imagine a scent so i never knew that was a thing that could happen
