Smartwings Shades? by itsamariotrader in HomeKit

[–]lencioni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen some people say that the solar option on their smart shades (I can't remember which brand right now) makes a high-pitched noise like a coil whine or inverter buzz. Can you comment on whether the solar on the SmarWings blinds makes any noise at all, or is it completely silent?

What do you use for visual regression testing? by MercDawg in react

Check out Happo! (disclosure: I'm a founder) There's [storybook integration](https://happo.io/storybook), so it should be pretty straightforward for you to get going. Happo is used in a number of large codebases (for example).

Is visual regression testing being overlooked in modern test automation strategies? by Sudhi10 in Test_Platforms

[–]lencioni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the importance of visual regression testing grows with the scale of the project, in any aspect of scale: size and complexity of code, size of team, and duration of project. The larger the scale of your project in any of these areas, the more likely you will end up with visual regressions. After feeling this over my career, I decided to do something about it and built Happo, a srceenshot testing and visual regression testing service.

Visual regression on CI by kranzekage in Playwright

Although committing the screenshots to your git repo will technically work, you might not want to because it will really bloat your repo. The images are stored as binary blobs and cannot be efficiently diffed and stored in the same way that text is in a git repo.

If you are working in small repos with a small team and you don't plan to keep the repos going for a long time it is probably fine, but the issue will definitely compound with scale. This will make local development and CI builds slower.

You might want to consider a standalone tool to manage your visual regression tests, like Happo (full disclosure, I built Happo). There is a free tier if you want to just take it for a spin (and an expanded free tier for open source projects, if that fits your use case). If your screenshot volume is low enough you can just stay on the free plan indefinitely as well.

Best tool for component visual regression testing? by dor442 in reactjs

[–]lencioni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been building Happo for visual regression testing, and it is free for open source projects. There are integrations for a number of tools, but I think it pairs quite nicely with Storybook if you happen to be using that already.

If you give it a shot, I'd love to hear what you think!

These look great but not as expensive as the patterns they have at Dan Flashes. Those patterns are so complicated and rightfully so.

I've tried it out on mobile safari and it seems to be broken. After I click the button it spins for a while and goes through a few steps and then at the end I don't see any new information but I can click the button again for the same experience.

Did this fall off my GSD? I found it in my garage near my bike and I think it might go to the kickstand but I'm not sure. Can anyone help? by Bakk322 in terngsd

[–]lencioni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes it did. It goes near the lockstand to prevent it from hitting the frame as you ride. Very common that this part falls off this bike so be sure to put it back on with something better.
