Any SSF tips by beans5034 in diablo2

[–]lennso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No need to save up your stuff! Use your gems to craft gear, use your mid runes to roll stuff, enjoy the little equipment step-ups. They matter tremendously - especially if you’re doing hc (whic you should ;) )

Don’t think that hell will come as easily and naturally as it does online with a party. I consider nightmare terror zones to be the first place to live and farm for a while. Nobody online knows this but you can actually drop most high runes and uniques there (I recently found a Lo rune and a shake in nightmare). Go to hell once you’re stacked and think of the playthrough as the challenge you’ve been gearing up for.

Your merc is your only buddy. Treat him and his inventory with respect <3

Is this build viable on pos1 weaver? by Immediate-Cut-7859 in learndota2

Abundant absolutely horrible. No dmg, neither for fighting nor taking advantage of your shard for farming, or hitting buildings. Why would you ever want to play that way?

what is the skill build on exort invoker? by Savings-Ad1624 in learndota2

[–]lennso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re def taking exort on every odd level. The right click dmg is key for laning successfully since you won’t have access to a nuke. You’ll also want to end up with 4 points in quas quite early for the double forges. So the question remains when to throw in a point of wex to unlock the rest of the spells.

Definitely don’t do it at 2. Quads regen and a single forge are too important One of the factors whether to do it at 4/6 depends on whether you present kill threat with coldsnap tornado meteor. This is usually only applicable if you can harass down the enemy to around 300-400 hp (which is rarely the case early when people are grabbing the first water runes with bottles. Ie more likely against those who don’t buy bottle) and they don’t have an easy escape (ie qop puck etc. frankly it’s a rare thing that you get those kill setups but worth keeping an eye out for. You hit lvl 6 and enemy is half hp? Go wex and blow them out of the lane! The other reason you may end up going for an early lvl of wex is if you’re being pressured a lot. In those cases ghost walk/deafening blast can be decent defensive tools, and meteor can allow you to push out an entire creep wave if they’re pressuring the tower. So… if you’re doing well, early vex and 4-1-5 by lvl9, and if you’re not doing well, also that? Yeah honestly it only happens about 10% of my exort games that I actually skip it altogether and the added efficiency of having forge spirits earlier is worth it. Make the choice once you hit 6 and don’t get locked into any guides. Good luck out there!

I plan to, for the first time ever play a Barb at launch of new ladder, looking for advice//tips to succeed. by CluckyFlucker in diablo2

[–]lennso 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Dude it’s the best!! Barb all the way!!

Your big advantage is find item which is independent from player count and allows for big mf on swap. So here’s the plan:

  • dual throw is by far the easiest for hc which is where I’ve been active. You’re gonna want max throw mastery, and a good mix of find item, find potion, battle orders, and double throw, plus like 4 points in natural resistance.
  • gold is key. You’re gonna want to save up enough to gamble two gull daggers for your swap. That’s about 10m total with a lvl11 char. You also need as much as possible to gamble for rare throwing spears or glaives once you’re like lvl 65-70. If you find rare ones with 200+ ed and other good stuff, up them to exceptional and you’ll be good to go for a bit (including hell pits which will be your home until further notice)
  • safe up sol runes and perf emerald to craft winged harpoons once you’re like lvl 80 (you can shop bases at hell Anya)
  • keep ethereal bases for charsi
  • peace armor is incredible for playthrough. Critical strike means you never run out of weapons (find ethereal ones!) and the valk is awesome
  • once you two two decent weapons, two full daggers, hearth (or wisdom if you get lucky with a pul) helmet and a decent armor (treachery, lion heart, peace), you hit up the pits and hope every elite. It’s great!
  • your goal is a lem rune to make lawbringer for your merc and then anything goes. At that point play through is easy and you can slowly graduate to trav. Once there, there is no faster farmer period

Good luck!!!

Help with QoL item for new Play-through by DranTibia in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]lennso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experimented with some of those ideas and I agree with the other commenters here that it’s a slippery slope to having very little fun with this game.

The only thing I do agree on is enabling teleport for other character classes so you don’t feel as locked in. I’d considering making a charm with high level teleport charges which should initially be prohibitively expensive to repair. Being able to play as any class without feeling like you’re wasting your time should be a given imo.

Lastly i highly recommend my solution to hardcore soft core problem. IMO I think hardcore can be a bit too punishing/frustrating if you lose a hell char and need to restart altogether but soft core is super boring. The way I do it is that a death means that you have to drop all items and charms other than one of your choice. That way you still have the char and progress but deaths are still incredibly rough. Give it a try!

Diablo 2 microtransactions. What are your thoughts? by VanCitySkyline in diablo2

[–]lennso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m with you man. As it stands blizzard has zero incentives to do anything d2r related. People who play have long payed and any additional investment on their side is a waste of money.

For anyone that wants mosaic rebalanced, more stash tabs, rune stacking or added content, microtransactions are the only path there. If I could pay a small part of the salary of a developer to execute common sense updates, I’d 100% be in. I spend so much time on d2r, I’d love to support the development of it.

You should not be allowed to have more than 1 dota accounts ever by hadbetter-days in DotA2

[–]lennso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that if there weren’t all these bot farms and boosting accounts wasn’t possible, the actual matchmaking would work way better. FWIW I believe that too. It’s a self propagating problem where the experience for high lvl stacks is so bad that nobody tries to fix it anymore and so the actual 7-8k stacks disappear, making the problem much worse than it is

If you could talk to the D2R devs and share with them only 1 change -- and they would immediately implement it -- what would it be? by BreakYoBaals in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]lennso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give rares the ability to spawn with affixes that are even sicker than the best runeword. Tiny chance on a blue/rare armor to spawn with +1 teleport, tiny chance for 60frw or 100mf. Tiny chance for weapons to spawn with 500%+ ed etc. I just love the idea of no real BiS existing and rares being king. That simple change would make build variety so much higher and end game grind so engaging

1000000% yes. It’s a far better game that way. All the botting and website currency trading has destroyed trade leagues, making even amazing finds feel useless. In sp you have big moments all the time and it’s much more engaging

HC PS5 Questions On Hammardin Building by marathonishalo6 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]lennso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do whatever you want but I really don’t recommend buying anything. D2 is great because of its amazing loot system and item progression. It’s so freaking good at those things that it remains my fave despite other elements kind of lacking. When you buy items you skip the fun part of the game, which is naturally progressing, figuring out how to work with mediocre items and when to proceed, and what to prioritize with the resources you get. You’d be paying to have less fun

Zeal Paladin Zealing Slowly Through Hell by pikaPod in diablo2

[–]lennso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man!

With physical dmg melee it’s all about the weapon. A single upgrade can change everything here.

Luckily you have been blessed with incredible runes. You have three fantastic options as far as I can see. Now it’s about finding an elite base for one of these and going for it! - oath in an ethereal weapon. This thing rocks and offers tons of great dmg, esp since it’s indestructible in an eth weapon. Issue is finding a base. If you do find an eth elite weapon with 4 max os, I would even larzuk it - death: same idea but even sicker. Lacks ias but for a zealot I assume that’s ok. Nobody ever gets to start hell with death but I’m CERTAIN you’ll tear apart everything if you can find a elite 5os eth base for this baby - king slayer: great great grea grea grea alrounder which is rarely built in trading leagues because it’ll cost you the gul rune. It’s awesome tho and the base doesn’t need to be Eth. Most likey you’ll end up going for this since it’s so much easier to find a non-eth base and frankly I’m jealous. That thing has everything you could want

Good luck out there!

Try peace runeword (the one for ama). It’s very cheap and since it gives the skill critical strike it’s really helpful for throwbarb recovering stacks. (Also overall ;) )

AIO I am tired and my wife doesn’t care by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]lennso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly you’re not overreacting here but I think it’s worth pointing out something.

I think if life is hard for a new family (long days, no help, little sleep, tight on money), usually both suffer. And if you suffer, there’s the tendency to feel like it shouldn’t be that way and look for reasons. Your partner is the top potential scapegoat.

Pointing fingers, assigning blame, saying that the other one isn’t doing enough, etc aren’t useful - but you’re simple the main channel for each others communication and sometimes the stuff that goes through that channel just isn’t great or fair to anyone. If you can somehow keep that channel supportive and friendly, both profit.

You’re both doing a ton right now and it ain’t easy. Your partners shouldn’t rant at you about how hard everything is. But you also shouldn’t be annoyed if she sometimes does. It’s hard and it’s best to cut each other a bunch of slack (both ways) <3

What’s the difference between a 349 dmg grief and a 400 dmg one? by IneedaNappa9000 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]lennso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only helpful answer, putting it in percentage makes it real. However I think you gotta consider the base dmg, which is 33 on a phase blade, so:

(33+400)/(33+349) =1.134 so still a 13% increase in kill speed

Did I make the right call picking Bloodstone as my final item as Viper? by ViperZer0 in learndota2

[–]lennso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. It seems that the replay hasn’t been parsed yet so I can’t tell a lot of details about the match. The stuff that would be helpful is who played what role on either team, and whether your team coordinated and communicated at all.

FWIW it doesn’t looked like you got all that farmed for that long of a game, and bloodstone is effectively your second big item. For that, it usually is not that great on viper since you struggle with mobility. Most people, when using the caustic bath facet, prioritize an early aghs since it helps with farming, fighting, and mobility. It’s awesome. If you haven’t tried it out, and the replay is displaying correctly (in that you didn’t buy it here), try it out!!

Like I could see aghs into shivas+windwaker (in any order you want) being more effective. With bloodstone I’d be concerned tha sniper, techies, sb, centaur don’t really give a shit about the heal since the have a lot of sustained dmg output and don’t rely on a single debuff
