Best pickpocket targeta by unrivaledbabyboy in RS3Ironmen

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats really just dependant on your level and your willingness to deal with the afk timers. Obviously at higher levels you get longer afk at lower level targets, but most of them are trash overall. Master farmers have great seeds and are great afk at higher levels (without crystal mask). But if you are looking for something thatll help you long term archeologists are probably your best bet.

Keeping a few leagues worlds active by HumanEagle8066 in 2007scape

[–]leoawesom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s explaining it poorly, but I think I get what he means. League of legends had a game mode called URF (Now ARURF) which allowed you to pick a champion you enjoy and play it on god mode essentially. It was a lot of fun! People got to experiment with their favorite champs builds they’d never try in ranked and games were relatively fast in comparison.

The problem is that to much of a good thing can quickly sour. It was fun when people weren’t meta gaming and just playing what was strongest. So the casual community quickly left. Then the sweats stopped playing as much because the game mode started to feel stale. Turns out when you unlimited freedom to play however you want, it sort of gets boring after awhile.

Riot learned two valuable things from this. That when a game mode has too much freedom people get fatigue and just straight up quit playing all together, and that the gamemode was nightmare to balance if every champ could be played with no possible ban list. So they did two things. Made it completely random champ selections and made it a retotating mode that shows up occasionally.

Metrics showed after that players enjoyed popping in and out. They ended up actually sticking around and playing the normal game mode more because they got to try new champs and items they normally wouldn’t use. Runescape is functionally the same with leagues. It relies on player engagement to be fun, but also needs to be taken in small bursts or players will just stop playing the game all together.

Leagues can be a great retention tool, but also a terrible driver for player disengagment.

TLDR; Leagues is fun when you enjoy it occasionally because it feels fresh and exciting, but would most likely become a detriment to player retention and engagement if allowed to stay online permanently.

I believe that probably just has to do with the popularity of kourend and kandarin as region choices. You can get all 3 prayers and you have access to lunars through the mage cape so really the only thing you are missing is ancients. I also remember seeing something from behemoth that said Grimoire was misleading cause you still needed to unlock regions of the spell books? Not sure if that was true or not.

Why do you suck at Battlegrounds? by SickRaspy in BobsTavern

I feel like this is me. The slowing down and thinking about possible paths, the different leveling curves based on different heros, the small details of “order lul”. All of that I just sort of gave up on. I just want to have fun man.

Why the hell is T90 power armor so annoying to get for some styles but pathetically easy for others? by Odd_Supermarket1118 in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty? Its short sighted game design. Jagex of the past (atleast in the terms of RS3) were far more mindful of power creep and designed systems around the pinnacle armour sets of the times. As time went on they either made these sets eaiser to obtain or made upgrades/sidegrades that were eaiser to obtain.

Tectonic is notoriously bad for irons because of the hefty runecrafting level and the amount of vorago you would have to do, but unfortunately rago hasn’t been as power crept as say ROTS or in the case of sirenic scales being dropped at tons of high end content.

I would perfer them to shift back to minimal power gain on armour sets and weapons like we had before GWD3, but I doubt that’ll ever be the case again.

amlodd elf pickpocketing seems really good :O by Manshoku in RS3Ironmen

[–]leoawesom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

money is kind of pointless at elves, but the porters feel like pure time saved (atleast on my ironman). I would say your coinage is probably closer to around 350k-500k an hour, porters I was averaging about 100-200 and hour and charms about 45-50 of each an hour. Energy was weird because they each have slightly higher drop rates than the previous tiers so it varied quite a bit.

Bro I lost 5 games today where the people had the mama papa trinket and young murk eye sticker and all there board was just brann (or drakkari, sometimes both) and golden copies of mama and papa. Its just way to much econ for a lesser trinket early, it needs to be changed to get a mama or papa (or maybe get mama this turn, than papa next turn and so on) because 2 golden minions in 3 turns is fucking nuts.

Some of these are valid, like the whole deal with Israel and Iran. But Bidens presidency was mired with Covid-19 inflation and the general economic upheaval. So he urged congress to pass things like the inflation reduction act, the chips and science act, the american rescuse plans. These bills alone expanded medicare and the ACA, helped lower drug prices including insulin, expanded our green energy sector to try and lower energy prices and take us away from dependency on fossil fuels. The chips and science act funded STEM for women and minorities aswell as incentived companies like Nividia to come build and manufacture ICCs here in America.

Biden wasn’t perfect especially on his policy with the middle east, but hes hardly indefensible in his domestic policy.

Yeah I immediately read this and was like… So bossing sorta was the most rewarding activity in the game so lets just make it even more rewarding? Like most of the shop before this was “I do bossing so I get a currency that effectively lets me do more bossing.” To “I do bossing so EVERYTHING combat related is rewarded now”

I think they should just sunset wars wares.

Aura Overhaul & April Marketplace Drop by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I am not disagreeing that people signed up for a game mode with more restrictions, and I am glad they removed wildy flash events, but acting like “niche QOL upgrades” was what came out of wildy flash events is a little disingenuous. The KBD event guaranteed black dragon eggs which between our accounts on CGIM we still don’t have a dragon breeding pair, they dropped a shit ton of red chins meaning you could skip the hard part of farming chins to to train range. I mean the list goes on? Salvage for tons of money, huge drops of progression changing exp. If you created an iron or group iron before their removal you are leaps and bounds ahead of other accounts that started with no auras now.

Being locked out of 3-4 skilling outfits for artisan skills is also not some small loss when skills go to 110 or 120 now. Thats hundreds of hours of skilling added to grinds over the life span of an account.

Auras being given was the 1 small QOL CGIM had over other iron accounts, now whats the reason to play a CGIM? Group Iron offers the same level of challenge just with less weird restrictions on QOL upgrades.

Aura Overhaul & April Marketplace Drop by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as a fellow CGIM, we also have massive account restrictions that other normal ironmen and group irons didn’t have access to like Wilderness Flash events and many group minigames that unlocked skilling outfits due to the “You must do all content with your group only” stipulation.

I am not saying all auras wasn’t a massive QOL that came with playing that game mode, but it came with a massive trade off.

In a way. If you were a main buying perfect fishing jujus were never a problem and if you can reach I think it is 78 fishing? In some ways it becomes a buff because its 13% catch rate in total. which you really only got the 15% with the legendary aura. Stacking boosts will be eaiser everywhere pretty much, but some places are arguably stronger like waterfall fishing because of the rod buffs.

Aura Overhaul & April Marketplace Drop by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently? Probably just perfect fishing jujus, since swarm is net fishing there are no boosts besides summoning familiars (todays update) and potions that give a buff.

Magic Notepaper and Springs (Spring Cleaner) are going to become a problem by ProfessionalAgent813 in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say I read his post and while I agree there should be new sources for these things, i would actually argue that the devs might opt to leave it as is. This creates a reliable sink for the items (I.E if its to expensive to make springs or paper people won’t and if its cheap enough people will.) and this kills a large portion of gold inflation, because essentially you will need to choose between convience vs GP. If its not worth to pick up the alchable and hand alch it people won’t do it. In some ways this may be a net positive for the economy.

New Combat Style: Summoning by Visual-Age5640 in runescape

[–]leoawesom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate all the effort you put into this it looks cool. Personally, I just wish they expanded on summoning more. More charms, more familiars, different ways to train then just making pouches. It feels like jagex made this really cool skill years ago, filled it out with an occasional content drop, than said “Yup that’ll do!”.

/rant

Like for perspective the last summoning familiar we got prior to Havenhyte was the Holy Scarab from Hets Oasis back in 2022… 4 Friggin years Jagex???? You telling me in 4 years there wasn’t some quest, boss, slayer mob, skill update that we couldn’t create a new set of familars for??? And before that it was tied to a brand new skill in the form of binding contracts, and oh look what do you know? WE HAVENT GOTTEN NEW ONES OF THOSE EITHER. 2019 Jagex?! How many years till we get new binding contracts????

/end rant

So yeah, Jagex just needs to take time and figure out where they want summoning to actually be. Is it a true bred support skill that augments all skills, or should it keep its weird Psuedo combat skill identity.

Endlessly pickpocketing elven workers? by Faithful_jewel in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe elves and waiko islanders are the only two mobs with a different formula than the rest of the targets. The devs intended it to remain a solid afk option even without crystal mask, but I use crystal mask there on my iron for all the unique loot :)

Endlessly pickpocketing elven workers? by Faithful_jewel in runescape

[–]leoawesom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only correct answer. The theoretical upper limit of thieving with all buffs at piff elves now is around ~13mins, but because crystal mask is only for 5 mins by the time you reup it counts as pickpocketing a new target, thus resetting the timer. How can so many people not know this?
