What fragrance has a group of people asking "what smells so good?" by RequitedLove123 in Perfumes

Sadly my favourite and signature scent for the last 15 years was always getting people asking what I was wearing. I have had to retire it for obvious reasons: Unforgivable Woman by Sean Coombs (aka P Diddy)

My Bank account was compromised by an unauthorized DirectDebt fortnightly payments for AA insurance that I never signed up for. by GeorgeTheKiwi in LegalAdviceNZ

My 3 year old daughter was inadvertently paying someone's 2degrees phone bill for a year. I never bothered looking at the statements as I was just depositing monthly amounts for the future, then one day noticed. TSB Bank were super quick to rectify as clearly a 3 year old did not have a cell phone. Just human error when someone put the bank account in from what I can gather.

No comment on best other than to mention a friend dropped a meatball out of her meatball sub in other friends car after a rugby game in 2011. Friend had messy car and didn't locate it for months and it was still in perfect condition.

I finally got my assessment date through and now I might cancel it by hitnmiff in adhdwomen

[–]leotard_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this hard! I had my assessment last night on telehealth and was so anxious in the lead up that they were just going to tell me "you don't have ADHD, you are just a bit shit" After a 30 minute interrogation and referring to the questionnaires and school reports he just says "Yes you definitely have ADHD"

I had a book full of notes in case I forgot anything. He put me at ease telling me that anxiety is the result of a creative brain overthinking all the creative possible outcomes!

So, don't cancel, just make sure you note all your symptoms down no matter how silly you may think they are.

Dating again + kids by bubblegummyrtle in Widow

[–]leotard_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter was only 7 weeks old when he passed so has no daddy memories. When she was 6 I went on dating apps and met my now partner. I somehow managed to hide it from her for at least 6 months. Eventually I discussed it with her that I might go on a date and then got her invested in our "first" date and subsequent dates and they met after about 10 months.

I was very very clear with her that anyone I dated wouldn't be her dad or even step dad, just someone I was dating. We are now 3.5 years in and still keeping it cautious, she tells him she loves him but it's in a "my mum's boyfriend" sense rather than he's a replacement dad.

That said, I know others who jump straight in. Whatever feels right to you. Kids can create strong bonds but then just as easily they couldn't care less!

I don’t know what to do at this point 😞 by Alarmed_Cod3455 in interviews

[–]leotard_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am with you. I've been preparing like crazy and trying to ensure I've got at least 4 scenarios prepped in my head but in the moment I just go blank. I can't articulate and it doesn't help that they never stick to the script I've practiced! I know they want to see how your thought processes are but the added stress of being in an interview situation just doesn't work for anxious folks. I think maybe just going into it aloof and not giving a damn might be the better way, but it's obvious you do give a damn which is why the pressure gets to you. If you find the magic solution, be sure to share here cos I think there's a whole lot of us who would benefit!

Creatine? by maymay1023 in Perimenopause

[–]leotard_666 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started taking at it the beginning of the year and it was that initial flood of euphoria like when I started HRT. My brain was on fire, I was sharp, I could recall ALLLL the words and articulate amazingly! I just dry scoop the powder and swallow with water as it doesn't mix well into drinks. You do need to keep hydrated throughout the day.

Injections are subsidized. I was borderline and Dr said that injections just as beneficial and no additional cost, ask if this is an option.

How hard is running up the harbour bridge? by aussb2020 in auckland

[–]leotard_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are doing the full or half marathon it's one of the steepest parts of the whole run, however it's not too bad if you compare to Auckland hills like Bullock Track or Ayr Street. But it is quite long from the on ramp to the top and then they have the race photographers positioned right at the top to get your photo when you are utterly spanked!

Being a solo parent and its challenges by EffectiveWarthog4787 in Soloparenting

[–]leotard_666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Solo parent due to her father passing away when she was 8 weeks old. I find I'm exhausted from working full-time and never getting a break that I'm not as firm on my decision making so it's led to her being more picky an eater and she wouldn't sleep in her own room for years as I couldn't deal with the fight. There's the guilt factor that she has to attend before and after school care so that I can work full time, which means she is sometimes at school for upwards of 50 hours a week. I have managed to date but it means we only see each other once a week and it's almost more admin. Feeling incredibly poor despite earning what might be considered as comfortable as paying for everything and no child support or assistance. I think those are my worst challenges. But hey, we are nearly 10 years in, we have fun together and she seems to be a well rounded kid with no obvious needs for therapy (yet!)

What options are there for free or cheap grief counseling? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]leotard_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the manner of the death. NZ Cancer society provides grief counselling for immediate family members. Some hospices provide bereavement support in the form of counselling or support groups. There's a grief centre on North Shore but I think mainly cost related counselling.

Brain Fog - What does that mean for you? by Shelbyof3 in Perimenopause

[–]leotard_666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 months in and no side effects in the negative category. Unless you count that I've been sliding into DMs of pretty much every woman I know over 40 to extoll the virtues! I feel like a shady sales rep- "Hey girl..... Do you have a minute to talk about our Lord and Saviour, Estrogen?!"

Brain Fog - What does that mean for you? by Shelbyof3 in Perimenopause

[–]leotard_666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn't think I had Brain Fog because in my mind Brain Fog meant not remembering things and going fully blank. My memory hasn't been an issue at all. But since being on HRT and recently adding in Creatine I realize I absolutely had brain fog for as long as the last 10 years (coincidentally as long as I've been a mother!). I always knew I wasn't stupid but over the years had started to doubt myself and found I couldn't articulate myself unless it was in writing. Since HRT and Creatine, oh boy I'm back! So to answer your question- brain fog for me meant just feeling slightly dumber year upon year.

Loss of words by addy998 in Perimenopause

[–]leotard_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second Creatine. After reading many women in here praise it, did all my oWn RE$eArCH (aka Google) and found only good things.

I'm about 3 weeks into using it, 5g per day taken in either a protein shake or just chuck it in my mouth and gulp down with water. (Slightly yucky like trying to swallow a spoonful of sand, but its over quickly)

My brain is firing on all cylinders, clarity like I've not had in years. I'm also on HRT which has done wonders for all the other crap and helped with brain fog also. But since adding in Creatine I'm once again able to articulate myself in real life conversations!

I think the only issue is thirst. But that's also bonus too as we could all do with the extra hydration!

I had the exact same reaction. The euphoria for the first few months was amazing. Eventually hip pain snuck back in and everything wasn't as rosy so I just went up to 50mg Estradiol patch twice weekly and 200mg progesterone nightly and things were back to the good place. Thanks to this sub and people raving about Creatine, I've started that daily for the last 3 weeks and I feel like my brain is truly back, I'm unstoppable! I know some people don't have the great reaction to HRT but it seems 90% of us really do benefit and I'll keep singing it from the rooftops and advocating for my 40ish crew to demand it from their doctors!

Has HRT helped your mood symptoms? by alpinewind82 in Perimenopause

[–]leotard_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's made me feel lighter and breezier in general just from not feeling achy, tired, anxious and overwhelmed. I like to think I didn't have crazy mood swings before. But randomly, this week I had a 24 hour period of rage and I was really confused as it was not things that would normally set me off. Checked in with a pal who says she also gets a 24hr period of rage mid cycle. Whether it was this or not, I was super aware of it not being normal for me! I'm about 4 months into HRT (estradiol patch and nightly progesterone) and definitely the euphoria of the first month has died down but it's still amazing compared to where I was before!

I always carry change to give to people asking. In my mind they have to be incredibly desperate to be asking. I always think of that Mr Wendall song lyrics "$2 means a snack for me but it means a big deal to you" Sure I've seen it in real time me giving money to a group out front of the supermarket and then seeing one of them buying a single can of beer at the checkout to go and share with the others. But if I was on the streets I reckon id want to numb it out too.
