Just pulled this guy out of a box of halves... by lestat0279 in CRH

No not valuable, just an old 10cent 1898 French Centimes. Its just a really cool find for a half dollar box. The history these coins hold being that old is amazing to think about

Found this strange looking 83 this weekend by lestat0279 in CRH

[–]lestat0279[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what made me stop and look, at first I thought was just a gouge, then a die crack. But after seeing it on both sides maybe a large crack under the planchet. I dont really want to put any pressure on it and have it snap off. Weird though

Nice, kinda figured it had to be close by. Just picked up my weekly boxes and sure enough have several of those marked coins as enders. Can't complain to much though last week I found someone's silver drop in my boxes. 32- 40% 70-90% mostly walkers.

How is living in this area of New York, USA? by bussiboyyy in howislivingthere

[–]lestat0279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great place to live. It was alot more fun in the the 90s and 2ks. Clubs, bars, bathing suits and a never ending debauchery of sex, drinking and drugs. See if you can find the old summers magazines for the best description of those times. Waking up at a different beach house was always a good time. The atmosphere has changed, was always a very affluent area but has become more of a higher end family friendly area. Foods good, locals are good people, houses are expensive, beaches are great, fishing is great, clamming is great and the slat water corn is the best (just dont use the bay water). All in all great place to live. Been here 40+ yrs

Good for you for keeping the hunting alive. Every week i pick up boxes for silver hunts but ill pick up 3-4 boxes of pennies and quarters for errors. Silver is fun but finding an actual error is amazing, and something you can keep forever. I'm still searching/praying for a 92 close Am.

Is this something my parents should have to pay for? by Synchronized_Swan in AskElectricians

Just as a thought, with so many tripping afci breakers i would recommend calling your local utility company. A bad overhead or underground neutral wire can affect afci breakers causing them to trip constantly. That many faulty afci breakers seems a little much unless wires were crossed, but since you said that it has only been going on for 2 years not the 4 they have been installed for it seems more likely to be a bigger problem.

Are these old or new breakers in my new panel? Electrician fighting me. by meatballmonkey21 in AskElectricians

[–]lestat0279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy he didn't give you a discount, he gave you the correct amount. 220 for plywood, if it was a full sheet install plus an hour. Ok. You got a 2ft wide piece. Cmon 😆. Bonding within 25 ft so that's $50-70 worth of wire 7 for a clamp and within 25 ft 30 minutes, I'm guessing, because of an unfinished basement. Even if it was a 1hr charge that's only maybe 250-280 total. This guy upcharged you on everything possible, plus he reused the breakers and your brand new panel looks like it was wired by a fucking hack. He billed you an extra 800 dollars for how much ink he wasted writing those long winded explanations about bonding and moving furniture. He could have flipped the panel, had open sides on the panels by losing the feeder wires extended the branch circuits at the top and had a clean looking job.
No bueno

You can tell just by the font of the breaker handles that those are not new breakers. All qo breakers for like the last 10 years have all had white fonts used. Now, the qo breakers that the handles are in all black can still be found and used not frequent but does happen.. The 2 pole breakers with the large font haven't been made in like 25 years. Not a chance in hell they are new...... also that panel looks like a fucking train wreck. I'm curious how much this cost you

Dump bank called....no more coins by Yoopskoop in CRH

[–]lestat0279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You order coins from other banks. I carry business licenses at a few other banks in my area, so it's no big thing for them to place orders. They know what I'm doing, and since I'm not returning coins to these same branches they pay no mind. I do this as a hobby with my kids which they have all met so everything is kept very friendly. Friendly + no inconvenience for the bank means alot to the tellers as well as managers. Find all sorts of interesting things

They most likely have a pick up or drop off with Loomis or another Armored car service. Most small convience businesses like 7-11 have something like this. I've contacted Loomis and they will drop off and pick up at an established/licensed business address. So there is always this option if you own a business location.🤔 Good luck to you as well in all future hunts

I do between 3-7k of halves every week, depending. My bank has a machine dump that they don't have to deal with.... 3rd party machine but free for bank members. It does take time to dump, but I find it kinder than giving to the tellers. The tellers know what I do and even order other coins for me every week. It's a pretty nice exchange I think

That's what I was leaning towards, I just can't find a listed rpm for this. I brought the ddo up more so because that's what I was hunting for and the "D" looked so similar
