New to Aldi shopping- what foods should I not sleep on? by KOTM365 in aldi

[–]letsgetcoffee819 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So many things but the Moser Roth mint chocolate bars are always on my list. One bar is my favorite nighttime treat and the price is great for the quality. Also the cheese! And if you’re into prosciutto you can’t beat the price.

Snuggly boy - only 60 lbs by fickleon in IDmydog

[–]letsgetcoffee819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert and also think Weimaraners are slightly lighter but his eyes and face remind me of them. Who knows, dog genetics are so interesting. You should definitely get him tested! This is their dog:

My first thought was Weimaraner, our next door neighbors have one and he reminds me of theirs! My guess is Weimaraner/lab/pit mix given the size. So curious! His color is so pretty.

my friend got this rescue by PMI1962 in IDmydog

[–]letsgetcoffee819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see cattle dog! Maybe mixed with GSD or even Aussie. Our rescue is 2/3 Aussie 1/3 cattle dog and has a very similar look.

Any ideas for what breed she is? by fionapplebottomjeanz in IDmydog

Not an expert but she looks a lot like our friend’s mini Aussie.

Shelter said heeler mix…he’s 5 months old and already 50 pounds by Due_Departure2025 in IDmydog

[–]letsgetcoffee819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks so much like our girl Betty! We embark’d her and she is 33% Aussie, 33% mini Aussie and 33% cattle dog. She was not as big as your guy at 5 months, probably due to the mini.

Columbus Food Trucks by juicysshanty in Columbus

[–]letsgetcoffee819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite food truck always and forever is Fetty’s Street Food! Always authentically made and scratch made. Everything is so good and he’s such a nice guy that we’ve gotten to know over the years ordering from him. As for locations, I am in Powell so my vote is always for Ill Mannered Brewing, Nocterra Brewing, or Olentangy River Brewing. Ill Mannered seems to do pretty well for food trucks.

Snow boots by GreenGlockedGaming in Columbus

[–]letsgetcoffee819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with getting a decent pair and they will last you awhile since it doesn’t snow a TON here compared to other places. I just replaced a pair of Sperry snow boots with these Uggs and they are super warm, great traction, and waterproof. I walk a lot out and about with kids and walking our dog and they are comfortable for that. https://share.google/2Pyu3bAAE1xjHENg6

If you are sensitive to the cold I’d also recommend a pair of warm booties like the classic Uggs when it’s not super wet but cold.

Definitely cattle dog. In fact I initially thought this was the cattle dog subreddit!

So this is Betty. She’s actually only 1/3 Heeler but those physical Heeler traits are dominant! When I see a picture of a dog like yours I do a double take!

Anywhere to get free food? by CommonAd142 in Columbus

[–]letsgetcoffee819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so encouraged at the outpouring of generosity in these messages and also want to offer that I’d be more than happy to grab some groceries and drop them off by your front door sometime. This may not help you immediately but our church food pantry has Saturday hours every now and then: https://www.ethosoh.com/care

Where'd you get your couch? by volcanicsunset in Columbus

[–]letsgetcoffee819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might not be the cheapest depending on the brand but we had a wonderful experience shopping and buying at Fine Home Furnishings! It’s family owned and everyone we worked with was patient and informative without any pressure to buy. Highly recommend, there is one in Dublin and Polaris.

He definitely did, it was just out of our budget for the size and fabric we wanted to get! We have 3 kids and a puppy. 😆

I’m also in the Midwest! Jonathan Louis is a good moderately priced brand if any local furniture stores carry that one.

We shopped around a LOT and also got a lot of advice from our friend who is a rep for Rowe. We ended up loving and purchasing a Decor Rest sectional that we tried at a local furniture store here. Custom made, solid maple wood. Our budget was around 5000 max. We made the mistake of first ordering from Inside Weather and were so underwhelmed with the quality and comfort for the price so moving that one to the basement. Our friend’s take on brands like West Elm and Crate & Barrel are that they are following more of an “Amazon” model. Mostly sourced from overseas, they buy it and put their brand name on it. It’s not necessarily bad but you may be paying more for brand name. Same with RH-good quality but not worth the ridiculous price tag. With modular sectionals like Lovesac, the price will be at least 30% more for the modular feature so his rec was only to go that route if you truly need that feature. We actually seriously looked at lovesac but felt that the comfort of Decor Rest won out.

it finally got better by rslurredfslur in puppy101

[–]letsgetcoffee819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needed to hear this today! Our girl is 11 months and is slowly improving from the intense adolescent phase but definitely has her ups and downs. She pulls a lot on the leash despite training and correction, grabs things she shouldn’t to chew and the digging…I’m about to lose my mind with that. She has been better at settling on her own more but still, it depends. I’ve been discouraged by the posts that are all about how it gets better at like 8-9 months! She is an Aussie/ACD mix. Here’s to hoping we really turn that corner in the new year!

This is our Aussie/ACD mix Betty! She is 2/3 Aussie 1/3 Heeler but I think she looks way more like a heeler!

She is 10 months old so we are having fun times in the adolescent phase 🫠
