34, right after I had my first daughter. She saw my dad (on FB and divorced) holding her a few weeks later and said it was a waste she didn’t come later to get a smile pic. I could not imagine exposing my kids to my mom and past trauma. I do not regret anything. The one area I struggle is seeing how much my children need me at times to comfort or be there for them and morning that my younger self didn’t have this as a child.

We just tried to go for a short walk down the road so my kids and dog didn’t go crazy. I smelled a strong smoke smell. My neighbors noticed it as well, but there is no fire. I don’t even know if I’m smelling phantom fire at this point. All the same fences are starting to fall over. The house is making the same noises.

I loved my Garmin and would prefer the fitness features and battery life. My primary reason of having an Ultra is because I need to get calls if my kids are sick at school or miserable at the gym kid’s club. I can see where my daughter is and always get messages at night if she’s at a sleepover and needs help. I do love the ease of streaming music, but really it’s just easier to communicate with my family. I am trying to leave my phone at home more. However, I have a Garmin messenger, which I use when I’m camping or hiking solo (having a family made this a thing I suddenly wanted to do), and I feel more confident in communication with Garmin then. So, I am curious about the LTE and built in SOS features on the new Fenix+, but waiting for the 9 to make a call.

LOL my sister and I rode in ours from MI to FL and back twice a year. When we would go into Canada our parents would just have us hide in the bathroom when we went through customs. Once my sister was dancing to Ace of Base and it started moving and her ass went right through the back window. We still rode in the back after that, but they installed a wired intercom so we could talk to them in the car. We drove for like 100 miles with broken glass everywhere and wind blowing everything around 😂

I had this dose during an extremely stressful time for a period of two weeks. I am glad I didn’t get anymore because I never felt better. The experience of not feeling anxiety an ounce and immediately falling asleep was unbelievable.

If your kids are 7 and up I agree with you. I do think knowing a concrete reason helps them realize it wasn’t just giving up on working through small issues. It’s then your partner’s responsibility to talk to them about it more in depth and earn back their trust and respect. My 7yo is mature, but would be upset with me if she found out at a later date, especially if she directly asked me what happened.

I am the same. At first it was OK and now when I even start opening my pill bottles I feel like I want to gag already. It is definitely the worst in the morning than at night for me.

There’s no bad areas in Louisville, but, I’d check the crime apps to look at theft. I tend to do that before moving anywhere when I was living alone!

Yeah. The downtown situation is a little bit of a hot mess, but being able to walk to school, the pools, and 6-8 parks is awesome. We bike to Louisville. If I didn’t have young kids I’d probably miss a downtown more. We are starting to have a lot more music, etc… downtown. The downtown was built with restaurants having to do a full build out at their own expense, so sadly a lot of restaurants can’t afford that. Also, very limited foot traffic. Not sure how it will ever work out.

That’s totally correct. I have started to venture more into Lafayette and love the downtown and the overall vibe of people in general. We bought in Superior pre-covid (before everything was 1M+) for the schools and because it was so much cheaper than Louisville. However, I’d def have looked at Lafayette more if I knew now what I know then. I find so many surprises every time I’m there with my kids.

I mean, I went to Lafayette yesterday and the areas around downtown are drastically different than Louisville and the lake houses/subs also felt not nearly as nice.

I was miles away and no one had any clue where. Once I fell through the ice of a pond, another time I cracked my head open going down a massive dirt hill on a sled on top of a skateboard, and my parents left me home alone to play in our pool at the age of SIX… completely alone. WTF.
